I was at this show! 18 years old and the end of Highschool Presidents’ Day break. My family took a road trip to Florida. Drove home the day of the show and just made it to NJ in time to meet my friends at the train station into NYC. Epic night. We still talk about it

Song: 10/10 This performance: 4-8/10 This was about Dave Grohl saying “Look at me, I’m the biggest rock star in the world right now!” Not about how good that song was and how great that performance could have been. Sad. Everlong is probably a top-ten all time rock song, but this version has only a few flashes of its potential.

WisGuy4 sorry man, a great song can be played differently than the album version ( and in my opinion should be at a live show) and be as good or better. But that’s what’s great about music, it’s art, so it’s all in the eye, or ear of the beholder to decide whether or not an individual likes it, loves it or hates it.

he is full of shit. IMO of course. He cant admit its about kurt and his wife. Too many tie ins with the lyrics. He could have changed several to stop people from thinking it is about kurt but he did not. He at least admitted when he wrote it he knew the correlation would be made. Of course it would because it is. I bet my left arm on it. Its also their best song imo. He sings it more passionately than most.

Dave isn't owned by anybody. He owns all the licensing and rights to all material Foos have ever put out. I'm sure you've heard of Roswell Records in passing conversation... Dave founded it in 1995, and the main reason he was smart enough to do that is because he saw the shit that Nirvana had to deal with. Dave does shit on his own terms, and does it better than Ian McKaye and Greg Ginn, I think.
