You might find it helpful to add the clay and powdered sugar to the oils, then blending them in the oils before adding the lye solution. It minimizes the discoloration of the lye reacting with the sugar and prevents the need to stickblend the batter more to incorporate the clay, thus preventing possible unwanted acceleration of your batter. 💕

Candance, I must say you are a very impressive young lady. I only recently found your channel and just yesterday say your video of the life of a 15 year old business owner. I was thrown for a loop, so to speak. I could see that you were young, but I had pegged you for a very young looking mid 20's. I was already a fan and to find that you were so young put me in greater awe of your talent and confidence. You are doing something that most of your viewers only dream of and I'm sure inspiring some to take that first step into the world of soap making. I look forward to watching you in the future as I'm sure you will go far.

Ooooo it looks like a loaf of pumpkin bread! The lather is very nice too for such a young soap, I made a batch and replaced the water with ginger ale, the lather looks similar.

Can you save the sugar water to use for another batch? Do you use less water in your lye solution to adjust for the sugar water?
@CadenceRoseco
@CadenceRoseco 3 күн бұрын
You can use sugar water in different soaps since you normally use it at a set rate( I do one teaspoon per pound of oil). Just make sure to store it properly in between batches. Because I do a 50/50 water discount and the amount of water I use is just enough to dissolve the sugar, I do not subtract that water amount from my lye solution.❤

How do you think a recipe would do with One hundred percent canola oil, sugar for lather and salt for hardness ??
@CadenceRoseco
@CadenceRoseco 4 күн бұрын
Canola oil is more prone to going rancid. So I would recommend using it in a lower percentage with another oil. I made a soap with canola oil in this video if you would like to check that out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJywq4CLmquLmbs

That’s good advice especially with the prices of olive oil and cocoa butter. 😮 I’m still in the learning and testing phase and have swapped out olive oil with sunflower oil in my soaps and butters. I have enough cocoa butter for awhile. Hopefully prices will go back to normal by the time I’m ready to sell!

Canola oil is also a good sub for olive oil. I've heard the soap can go rancid quicker, but i've never had an issue with that. Always run your formulations though a soap calculator before swapping things willy-nilly, easy way to ruin your soap if you don’t.
