Had the privilege of attending Jakub’s performance at the Queens Hall at the Edinburgh festival. Without doubt one of the highlights of my life, superb singer, entertaining , mesmerising, as were all the musicians accompanying him.

I have alway been kind of intrigued by the almost « too good to be true » perfection of Lugansky’s recording of the Etude-Tableaux… It even made me questionned myself about the authenticity of the recording, even to the point that I considered the fact that there might have been some rearrangements of some sort after the recording. But this live concert definitely comforts me in the idea that his playing is just pure genius, and emerges from a deep understanding of what Rachmaninov’s music is all about. Simply incredible.

Last week, I got to see him in Athens at the Herodium Theatre under the Acropolis , where he had a concert with the Pomo d'Oro!!!!!! It was absolutely amazing!!! His voice "Beyond" this world!!!!

Une merveille d'interprétation pour ce que je considère comme le plus grand chef d'oeuvre de Schubert, au service des deux plus beaux instruments de musique jamais conçus. Merci à tous les trois! (Mon père était violoncelliste et cet instrument dévoilait toute la beauté de son âme masqué trop souvent par la froideur de son tempérament . Avec ma mère ils formaient un couple de musiciens fusionnels, je leur en veux de ne pas m'avoir transmis leur passion...). An extraordinary recital and perforamnce. Lugansky is one of my favourite pianists - daring but controlled, big dynamic contrasts, superb technique and a direct, honest approach. I know he's amongst the best of the best but I still find it remarkable he can play Rachmaninov solid for 1.5 hours and still look cool as a cucumber at the end.

Ce concert est une rencontre entre deux grands artistes : nous attendons avec bonheur la publication de ces arrangements pour voix et guitare en particulier pour Fauré.. qui aurait pu croire que la guitare sous les doigts remarquables de ce magnifique guitariste pouvaient rendre la sublime musique aussi naturelle qu' au piano ! que dire de Marina Viotti une artiste que le monde entier nous envie dans ce répertoire de mélodies françaises et de l'opéra et qui n'a plus rien à prouver ! le disque est une petite merveille Mr Perny Dijon
