Shit like this is why society thinks real off grid are white trash

Instead of back filling with clay dirt which has poor leaching , crushed stone is the way to go and and just top the last 8 inches with the clay soil, don't forget to put tar paper between the top of the stone and finish dirt topping. It allows the liquid to flow freely out the tire core. Still not a long term system but better than just using clay to back fill.

Well, it looked good on paper anyway. Those voids between tires are waaaaaaay to big, in fact they shouldnt be there at all. $20 says his backfill alone will fall inwards and fill his "tank" area within a month😅. For the effort I would have just used a plastic/steel 55 gallon drum. Drill a thousand 1/4" holes in its sides and bury. Done.

I did basically the same with a plastic tile 4 feet wide 5 feet long . I put two inch holes from top to bottom and never one issue to date .

I'd consider this good for the washing machine that uses bleach, so, that gray water, isn't killing the bacteria in the main septic tank causing pre-mature pump out.

great, you created an illegal dump on your land, filled with feces, which creates a health hazard if and when you have to remove it. Way to go. lets ruin the earth in all new stupid ways

You would be better off drilling large holes around the tires instead of bricks

What keeps the firt grom going in between the tires where it sits on the bricks?.i think i would wrap it in a good filter fabric to keep the insides free of dirt....great for a camp site
@jimf1964Күн бұрын
So you have a grey water system too I guess? No way would this handle the bath and sink. Also, it seems like you have some very nice sandy soil that would drain easily. Lots of places don’t have that.
@splashpitКүн бұрын
Iv made one with two old wheelie bins two chambers joined together , would be the same length as that but deeper and more capacity.
@mamajan99Күн бұрын
I think I would wrap the outside with a permeable ground cover to prevent soil from filling the tires over time.

When I was a kid my buddy and I were sitting in a tree, and his toddler cousin came along and lifted the wooden box covering their cesspool and looked in. He fell in headfirst and the lid slammed close over him. If we hadn’t seen it happen and pulled him out he might never have been found.

You know most counties take this stuff pretty seriously so you better be careful you shouldn't really post this kind of video if you do it cuz if they find out they will come after you most counties would really jump your bones and you being a lot of trouble if they caught you doing this I understand why you're doing it but be careful because they find out about it you're going to get in trouble

Chewed on about a quarter sized of it after rinsing it. Chewed it until it was a pulp swallowed half of if and gargled the rest with a lil water before shooting it the remaining pump.. Sore throat that had been bothering me for 4 days vanished within hours and the swelling in my throat went away.

I'd call that a rubber lined cesspool, in the old days they would dig a hole, fill it with larger rock, cover it with straw and then a layer of dirt. Worked for many years, then dig another hole to the side and do it over again.
@rupe532 күн бұрын
have seen a DIY septic tank made from an old bed spring (frame style) and covered with straw, over the top of a foundation of rocks. Run a perf pipe out the other end for a leach field and more rocks. Dug one up that must have been 60 years old and the steel frame was still good.

I would've made two stacks of tires. One for solids, and another for liquids. If I were doing it I would've put gravel around the liquid side of the tires as well. Otherwise, a great idea.

How are you going to seperate liquuds and solids?
@zerkfitting2 күн бұрын
@@daanwessels4781 Solids settle and do not remain suspended in solution. By placing a baffle and another section of pipe from the first tire pit to another pit the liquids will naturally flow to the next chamber. There is where I would place a yard or so of drain rock around the second stack of tires.

Why not use 18 wheeler tires and not have to worry about filling it for many years.

Years ago we did the similar thing. We use the fifty five gallon drum tho. I poked holes in the sides. and put gravel around the outside of barrel.

I once saw an old 275 oil tank used as a septic tank. Just drill some holes and backfill with gravel, then cover with straw to keep the dirt out.

I would have dug out around the tires at least a foot to 18”, then filled the center with 3/4” gravel and on the outside. Put pour a concrete slab on top to keep dirt out, then fill around the outside with gravel, and cover the whole thing with 2 layers of 6 mil plastic sheeting and then fill the dirt in.

Smarter to just drill holes in the tires. Big spaces like that will allow dirt to flow in and fill the septic in a year.
