Once It's in use and then a tornado comes you are going to have a tough decision to make. But on a more serious note, when you get caught remember these words "It was here when I got the property". You will still have to do it correctly but you might save yourself from having to pay the fines.

I would think the vent would need to be on the inlet pipe coming into the tank since your house vent would normally be on that side of the system anyway. You have a water trap on the outlet side of the tank and you'll only vent on the infiltrator side. But one of the best DIY septic systems I've seen.

You should throw the last tire on top so that lid is above grade to keep rain water out

Novel idea....cheers for sharing. On another note, i would have prepared the floor with lime, to break it done easier. And would have gone a few more tyres deeper. Be sure to throw a couple of handfuls of lime down the line every couple of months to aid in the break down of the organic material. And you always plant a tree once its full. 👍

I see the same system used to here in the Philippines out in the country. The only difference is they just drill a bunch of holes in the tires and stack them on top of each other. But it does seem to work Well. Really cool video I enjoyed watching it .

That is not a septic system by any stretch of the imagination. It's a drywell. It will fail. Alternate. Use the tires as the holding tank, maybe double wide and deeper. Outlet pipe lower than inlet. Baffle on outlet. You have a machine. Either one leg or 2. Come off the holding tank and have perforated pipe over a stone field or several trenches,(3/4 or 1 inch stone).Either way go down 5 or 6 feet. last forever. Needs pumped every 3 or so years.

Should have skipped the brick and just drilled holes in the tires. And wrapped with fabric.

This would work great for your shop if you couldn’t hook into your House system for whatever reason. I don’t think I would tell anyone about it though, here in northern Ohio they might frown on that one. It would still work and you can get rid of some old tires in the process. Sounds like a winner!

Interesting use of tires but bad design. This would be no good for solid watse. This would make a better dry well for a shower drain. Do what you did then fill it with 3/4" clean stone. 👌

You can fill each tire one by one so It will be stronger when you reach the last one on top. And for increase the capacity of the septic tank you also make three well of 5 tires each interconnect.. and last if you cut several holes in tires the bricks won't necessary ..I guess 😅

My wife and I put a chamber type system in like this but we bought the ABS chamber sections and used 3 spherical tanks we bought at Lowe's. Our chambers run 60' from the tanks with gravel around them. We do the toilet paper in a bag which is way better than in the tank, but I screwed up by connecting my sink and shower to it. I should have dumped them out on the ground or made a second grey water system and used it for plants etc. Great Video, Thanks

Where I live I told the appraisal police that I have a compost toilet but I actually have 3 plastic tanks and a real toilet. They want you to do a aerobic system where I live which I hate since I am a licensed plumber and I know they are a lot of trouble and maintenance. That is why I did my own and made it my way instead of going trough the county getting inspections and having my property tax jump up, because they consider a septic system an improvement of the property value at the appraisal district.Fuckum feed-em fish heads fight the system like a modern day Robin Hood. Great Video, Thanks

In most states, septic system permitting and installation is highly regulated by the county or state EPA. This type of system is illegal in most localities. Contamination of ground water is the major concern.

Buried it in the ground covered it up And pumped my septic into it for over 10 years without a problem..... Add a drane fild 10 by 20 area with one foot ' of 3 quarter stone Covered up .. I never had a problem for over 10 years And the people I sold the house to.... Still use it today.... Just use Riddex in it once every couple of months
