Seen him ( and filmed ) do this song at the Redwood Run and he went into the crowd and brought three girls on stage for a topless guitar contest. Elvin always does a fun show.

My point in posting was to celebrate the band performance, especially that of my domestic partner Rick Sankey on drums, who I lost to a tragic accident on 11/23/23.

Freddie Huges, "Send My Baby Back." This brings back so many memories. Back in the day I was in a female group. Yep, a girl's group, 3 young ladies (Sharon Brothers, Sheila Mack & yours trully). | think this was our best jam. We won 1st Prize at a talent show at the Oakland Auditorium, backed by Gregory Green (RIP) & the Green Brother's band, or maybe the Bay Town's backed us that night. We thought we were so cute. Never did get the prize, a music contract. Anyway, we sang at the Oakland Coliseum too during halftime at a Warrior's game. Such a nice memory that I almost forgot.

Seattle Pop Festival July 25, 26, 27 1969. Every bit as good as Woodstock and minus a few groups, yeah, but minus the rain, the mud, the traffic too. Three days and nights of nonstop music!

RIP Applejack Walroth and Rick Sankey. Jack was the real deal. Apple was a kind person, brilliant songwriter and a really cool, simple (good simple) and very soulful & effective harp player. We played together for 10 years at The Saloon and recorded 1 album together: Blues Power - Live at the Saloon-good luck finding it. Notable in this video: my friend Rick Sankey on drums, who just passed away in January-another very kind person, also from Chicago. Also, my brother Martin sitting in on hippie hand drum, my hair/elative youth and another 49ers SB loss. Apple's blonde Bassman head and Peavey 4x10 cab lived in the basement of the Saloon (a room with many tales to tell.) This Applejack tune, Those Lies, Radiator 110 (with Jack on harp) and 2 more are on Boz Scaggs excellent Out of the Blues album from 2018. I saw Boz in 2023 and he introduced and acknowledged Jack on 2 of the Applejack tunes he did that night. (He didn't even mention Fenton Robinson or Earl King)
