Thank you, great demo. I'm not in a humid climate but I have issues with an iron and interfacing for bags. So I'm getting one of these for Christmas- your video was linked from a FB page. Can't wait to try mine

Thank you! After watching your video last month, I purchased a heat press to complete my least favorite task of prepping for sewing--applying interfacing. I did not know what temperature to use. Now I do! I can't wait to try this with my current skirt waistband. :D Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! What else do you use your heat press for?

I wish i could store my fabric on boards like that however i live in an older apartment buildong and the tenants below me smoke. They arent suppose to smoke inside but they do and the smoke comes up into my apartment so all my fabric as soon as i buy it and get home get folded and immediately put into 2 gallon ziplock bags and into totes. I also used to buy fabric in FB destash groups but sadly people sold fabric they shouldnt. I would always ask if the fabric was near smoke or strong smells and the sellers would say no. After recieving multiple packages of fabric that had to be thrown out i stopped buying from destash groups. Some fabric i recieved and it smelled awful. The seller must have known because they tried to cover the smell with perfume. Now i only buy new fabric because of that

That sucks that the tenants below you are ruining your fabrics. :( I find washing with a light vinegar solution helps get rid of most smells in fabric.

I wish they would be sold as 2nds. My local fabric store always sells them at full price it is even hard to talk them down on price when I find stains on some of the fabric.

You need to research some of the fabrics that you have because many of them are very valuable, such as the laurel Burch, which were the ones with the birds and the lizards check it out

Hello, I am watching from New Zealand. Cannot believe how much fabric you find in Garage Sales. Or how cheap it is. We just do not see this in NZ. Patchwork is an expensive hobby here. Loved watching your finds.

Is the throat space large enough to fit a quilt through it do you think? Looks small. Great for projects or garments though!!

I have quilted a couple of lap sized to toddle sized quilts on it so far and it has worked well. I think it could handled up to a queen sized quilt depending on the thickness and design you are going for.

I watch FB Marketplace and I’ve done some major fabric hauls over the past year. I have about 100 yards of flannel and the same in fleece along with about 200 yards of cotton. I’m working my way through. I feel great when I sell items from the reclaimed fabric.

That is how I have found a lot of my bigger fabric hauls from too. Often I have to look at the pictures for garage sales to see if they are selling fabric or not.

I'm stopping and starting to make comments as I watch so I don't forget what I want to say, so there's probably gonna be a few edits as a result... soz 🥴 I'm pretty sure the black birds are either crows or ravens, but definitely not magpies because they are black and white, and also don't think you have maggies in the states... the cat prints that you say you'll make pillows from are panel prints and are usually used to make wall hangings, tableware - table cloths, placemats, runners etc, and sometimes quilted throws for the back of chairs or lounges... edit: I really like the creamy coloured snowflake damask/jacquard type fabric, though it is a bit difficult to know for sure what the fabric actually is without being able to feel it and see it in person but it's still a pretty one, not entirely sure what to make out of it, but it is pretty,,, maybe a personal placemat or napkin, or a cover for a makeup stool, or a doily type thing for your dressing table/vanity. Maybe some of the farm style prints could be cute aprons and/or bibs with the flannelette as a backing so it's softer against the skin, with the border part of the prints gathered or pleated around the edge... when my grandmother was getting towards the end of her battle with Alzheimer's she needed to be fed and the carers would use specially made large, 3 layer bibs for the residents. these bibs had a pretty print on the front, a moisture proof lining and a soft fabric, like flannelette or a thinner fleece, on the back, to help keep the dear old loveys a little bit dryer if they spilled anything,,, and they used the same sort of stretch ribbing around the neck hole that is used for the basques on the sleeves and hems of sloppy joes and track suits, so the bibs could just be popped over the head so no ties, buttons or hook & loop tape closures to cause any issues... sorry if this is all a bit long winded... you really did score big and at the price you paid for it all, I'm more than a little bit jelly I gotta say Anyhoo, I hope you have lots and lots of fun making all the things you're going to be making...😁 🙃🐨🇦🇺

Have you considered making mug rugs(over sized coasters) with some of the chicken fabrics and kitchen fabrics such as the coffee beans and teapots? I think they would be cute and the would probably sell well in small sets of 2 or 4 mug rugs.

That is a very good idea. I was thinking some hot pads but mug rugs would be nice to do to. I'll have to make a set and see how they turn out.

You can find out if a fabric is cotton or not by snipping a small piece off and lighting it on fire if it ashes it's cotton if it melts into a ball it's not

Loving your haul. Ty for sharing. I would guess by watching from where i sit the blue with Polar Bears looked like Poplin. Also the big squares are called panels. They make good pillows like you said or ready made quilt top or cafe style curtain if big enuf.

The flag pattern that is bigger would or could be cut into 2.5 squares. It changes the look entirely. You could try it with a couple strips. Love your thrift supplies. Great shopping I bought 49 mens dress shirts for under 30$. Have cut them up into usable strips and squares.

Wow, cute machine! I love Brother. I have 7 machines - 5 vintage, a plastic Brother machine like yours and an industrial… and yes, I love good solid old machines….but I ALSO ADORE my little Brother … they love cheaper thread, I can freemotion sew with her like she’s an expensive embroidery machine (she’s not, she’s a bog standard 16 non-fancy stitch plain machine) and I own almost every accessory for her, so I’d never get rid of her, she was my first baby! I actually sat and watched you while sewing her a brand new clear vinyl dust cover cos I hate covering my machines up so you can’t see them - ‘cos they’re beautiful!🤗🤗🤗
