Brian Linehan, who is being parodied here, asked Martin Short to stop doing the parodies, which he did. They were both from Hamilton and knew each other. Dave's Bob hope is excellent. They have a great episode where Moranis played Woody Allen, who revered Hope. to Daves Bob Hope.

He’s really got Hope’s persona down cold, so much so, it’s frightening. I would of loved to see Bob Hope’s reaction to this! He even thinks like Bob Hope! The little Canadian show was centuries ahead of their time. All the SCTV comedians were so individually talented. I loved that show when it was on.

Stan Kanter -- what a character, never seen this one before. He's genius, he's channeling lecherous game show hosts like Richard Dawson. . . and the comeback to the news that the guest is Indira Gandhi "Danny, cancel that roast beef buffet" . . . wow. Somehow Levy, like Paul Schaffer, grew up knowing all the weird quirks of celebrity and loving them . . . also notice that Levy has not one but two distinct Boscht Belt comics, Stan Kanter and Bobby Bittman . . . the quality of the observation is amazing.

(Sorry I took a while to respond, I don't seem to get notifications anymore!?) I recorded a bunch of the episodes on a DVD recorder back in the 90s, when they showed them on the Canadian Comedy Network and Comedy Gold Networks.
