I keep seeing these videos in my feed. This is called foiling? I've never seen this board thing your using, crazy how it works. About to research it. It looks fun. What is the hang glider looking thing called your holding?

What size am I looking at in your video? I just ordered a 72 L Omen Flux. This is 22" wide and 5' 1" length made in the Appletree factory.
@CaitlinBaxterАй бұрын
In the video I have the 90L Torpedo. It’s 19.5” wide and 6’1 in length. Appletree is meant to be great and with less litres that will be a super fun board! Personally I would suggest slightly narrower
@kippywylieАй бұрын
@@CaitlinBaxter Actually I'm somewhat a beginner intermediate. 32 years windsurfing, with 12 years kitefoiling I picked up winging pretty fast with all my jibes, toeside riding, on-foil. I'm struggling to learn this smaller board and I've returned to an easier flat water launch to figure out the Stinkbug
@martinomoviesАй бұрын
72 L Omen Flux is 5'7" length.
@CaitlinBaxterАй бұрын
@@kippywylie I think you have gone a really good direction with the 72L then. I would even recommend going up in Literes! As long as your not wanting to jump yet. My 90L is my favourite at the moment because once it’s in flight you don’t notice the extra litres. It just equals more flight time, thus more waves! The DW shape keeps the more intermediate/advanced speed and agility but allows you to pump up easy and transition easier

I am a litle Bit concerned of jumping with a leash. I saw you jumping with a leash. So when does IT make Sense to do IT with or without a leash.
@CaitlinBaxter2 ай бұрын
It does seem scary at first so just start small. I have always worn my waist leash whilst jumping and I actually beleive it can be safer sometimes the coil leashes absorb a lot of pressure so it will ease away from you if you fall you just have to be careful of it bouncing back. I think if your planning on trying really big jumps or big rotations, not having the leash while you learnt does make sense

it is a journey. There are so many good tips n tricks on how to land the fs3, but in the end the only thing which helps is failing many hundrets of times. I've just landed the first ones couple days ago after three months of straight failing. You'll be there soon, it all looks good!

good points! However, I've moved away from the small foils (800) because the backflips now also work with 1100cm (e.g. Medusa799)... so winging is a bit more fun and I'm on the foil more than anyone else😁😇
@CaitlinBaxter2 ай бұрын
Yeh very good point!! I probably should have mentioned that. Having more lift is definitely more beneficial sometimes and gives you way more foil time 👏 I think the small foils are just great in the bigger waves

First time viewing one of your videos. I really love the slomo!👍First time thru it was hard to catch/absorb your comments. Thanks for listing them in the comments. Keep up the slomo vids. Adds such an artistic view and beauty to the sport (ballerina ish). I'm gonna subscribe and hope you have some instructional vids in slomo. If not please consider. Makes it easier to see sail movements, foot positioning board leverage weight shifting etc... To many vids describe what you should do or try but we replay them over and over to actually catch the small details/nuances. I'm converting over from windsurfing (intermediate). Good stuff for me! 😉
