Awesome picking, i just started picking this lock. But after i set disc 4 and retract the return bars i have zero feedback. Maybe its my lock, im not really sure because i have nothing to compare it to. Are you feeling the true and false gates?
@affinity34702 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Is the Disklock a kik? Are you picking it in a padlock? If I remember correctly I wasn't able to pick it in a padlock because it prevented me from fully tensioning the lock.
@irishjerseyguy2 жыл бұрын
@@affinity3470 Yes, it is a kik cylinder inside a padlock. So you think that is my problem and why im not getting feedback? If so, i will remove the kik core and give it another try. Thanks for the tip. 👍
@affinity34702 жыл бұрын
@@irishjerseyguy Padlocks can kill feedback in some kiks and euro profiles because they can limit the ability to fully tension a core. You should be getting atleast some feedback after you take it out. Although it's very minor which makes the Disklock a difficult lock to pick. You can message me on LPU discord as well. Good luck!
@irishjerseyguy2 жыл бұрын
@@affinity3470 Thank you, i just ordered a Abloy padlock with a disklock keyway. Im not really into making videos, i just post my locksport moments on Instagram. So just posting a disklock kik cylinder picked open is kinda uneventful. Thanks again for all your help. 👍
@MikkoRantalainen2 жыл бұрын
@@affinity3470 If I've understood correctly, many people feel better feedback if they tension and pick in opposite directions. So if you tension clockwise, rotate all actual code disks fully to clockwise direction first, tension the lock and start to rotate binding disk counter-clockwise. Of course, you need a picking tip that can fully rotate the actual code disk to max cut position while keeping the tensioner in fully turned (zero cut) position. With Disklock is shouldn't be that hard but with Disklock Pro, the key guiderails get into the way big time.

congratulations! what is your lock focus today, 9m on? and if i may ask - how many months of practice did you have under your belts prior to getting here? (and way to go using these not multipik dimples to show what can be done!)
@affinity34702 жыл бұрын
Thank you :) I started picking in December of 2020. It took about 4 months of practice on low security locks until I picked a purple belt lock. Progressive pinning has really helped me advance through locksport. I bought Honest Dong Shi picks because they were very affordable. Now that I have Multipicks I still prefer using Dong Shi because the handles are thicker and easier to rotate. I'm currently working on a Abus EC700. After that I have more to pick like the Evva Dual, Abloy Sentry/Exec, and Dom Diamant! Cheers 🔓

So the butterfly disk has a bit different shape in cutout? And that makes it hard to tension with pick tip on a stock Sparrows ? Thank buddy 🐈🐾🐈⬛🐾
@affinity34702 жыл бұрын
You want the disc you're tensioning from to start in a true gate like a zero disc. If tensioning from the butterfly, it will over rotate and push the sidebar out of the true gate! Then you won't feel the other disc bind.

Great entry for Lockmagic giveaway. I have been struggling to open mr Kwikset Smartkey padlock. What is your technique? It looks like you are tensioning counter clockwise.👍🦊🍀
@affinity34702 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jack, this is a tough lock. I tensioned clockwise and found I had to manually counter rotate to get the sliders out of false gate and immediately reapply tension to prevent other sliders from dropping. It helps to progressive pin these as well to learn the binding order. You can just leave the key pins in and remove the sliders as needed. It's also crucial to recognize when the sliders in the true gate. True gates will have a noticeable giggle to them.
