I think some Lego investors are making the mistake of paying above retail for vintage Lego figures, sets, etc.. as if it's a good investment. It's not. The best way to invest in Lego is finding sets for 50% off, or even at retail price if it's not too expensive. Even better if it's something you like (and can later debox and keep the pieces/store them at 1/4th the space if the value isn't there soon enough). I would honestly hard pass any vintage Lego vendors. There's too much good new stuff for me to be concerned with the past. Why get a vintage unique figure if Lego is making so many great new ones at a fraction of the price?

I would highly recommend posting that you're going to have Lego at these shows. Wether it's on your page, the event page, a fb group, etc. As a Lego collector myself I enjoy going to toy shows and if I knew a particular vendor was going to have Lego there I would be sure not to miss it.

No one wants to pay market value for just about anything these days. Everyone wants a "deal".

i think with the upcomming of reselling ppl get to know the worth and dont trow lego away or sell it for low prices they keep it or when they sell it ask insane prices

honestly. I notice this as well. I have been focusing on my investment in pokemon cards for the long term. already have some people interested in my collection that is currently sitting in 30k range.

As someone who is into the hobby, I have definitely noticed a decline. I think it is due to a couple of things being 1) people r finally starting to get back to a normal life that is filled with more than just Lego 2) too many people got into it and the cost got way too high for new people to get into the hobby 3) there were people who actively bought out certain themes and then artificially drove the price to double and in some cases, triple or even more what the actual market value is 4) A Lot of the "influencers" that were helping drive the market either gave up, fell off, or did well enough to where they only post once a week which more or less killed the hype train we we're all riding on 5) all good things must come to an end. I have seen the community get thinner and less noticeable over the last 2 years and was at least a lil excited about it cause prices will come down for those of us that r into it for the long haul however I primarily collect StarWars which will be one of just a few themes that almost certainly will not drop in price by a significant margin. Please go to s lego convention do research for a good one but do one as you will sale tones I think at normal toys shows there’s not many Lego fans and it could be some times a lot sakes as it’s people buying it for profit go to a Lego show and you will move a lot Lego won’t sale well at a toy show but at a Lego convention it will move fast

Lego popularity is not dying it’s getting bigger it’s just the scalper market is dying and people are reading that so not paying any more also some people buy up tones of Lego to resale and if everyone does it some times it won’t go up a lot anymore because there’s a lot out there, and this I not saying this changes this is done by people who collect and enjoy and keep a lot it’s the people that just buy it for profit that makes it seems like the market is dying it’s not it’s the scalpers can’t move stuff because actual collectors are not paying tones for new stuff because there’s so much and old stuff is still going up and it won’t stop it’s just more modern stuff because re salers are not buying up stuff scalpers are not buying every Lego because people who don’t collect think everything is worth money basically the Lego market is not dying it’s getting better in a way because scalpers are not buying everything to try and make a profit old stuff will sale be careful with modern stuff and again channel owner I respect you are a collector I sale Lego I get to get more stuff sometimes your not a scalper it’s just the people that don’t like Lego and what it for the money

I sell at Lego conventions in the uk and is baiscly a part time job for me whilst being my hobby, the decline I’ve seen in event attendance and buying power from the people purchasing is worrying, I wouldn’t saying Lego it’s self in general is dead especially not the popularity but the willingness to spent so much has definitely dropped, it’s a worrying time for sellers and financial collectors alike. Let’s hope it’s just a phase !

I just got back from a trip to my value village and I’m so disappointed they had the set 75199-1’s box for 9.99 cad but when I opened it it was only parts of the set and some random lego city set without general Greivous or Mace Windu

My eBay completely dead. No sales for like 2 months even through it’s a good inventory list. But local has been better. It’s just weird how they shift in the season.

So, on a work trip to Houston, I stopped by their goodwill bin store. I went through a couple bins where no one was looking through. Found a kids Patagonia Powder Town jacket. They had clothing items for 2.49/lb. Very happy with the find! Thank you for the videos, it got me looking through the clothing that I’ve never paid attention to before.

Just wanted to say absolutely love the toy show vids! Would be cool to maybe see some of the actual interactions and transactions with buyers!

I find the areas that have older professionals in their 50s or so have the best items and they could afford to buy their kids lego and video games. The family friendly starter home/cookie cutter neighborhoods I found tend to be low quality of items.
