The music video to Estranged is the best example of a "jump the shark moment" any rock band ever had. From the poor dolphins and the oil tanker to Slash emerging from the sea, it's just too much and taking itself too serious. I fully understand why people were craving for something more authentic, and Grunge felt like a breath of fresh air. I also understand why Cobain despised his label mates that much. I still prefer GNR over Nirvana, but the best 20 songs from Use Your Illusion don't come close to Appetite and Lies -- in my humble opinion. Authenticity over virtuosity.

One of the greatest bands ever. Wouldn't have worked any other time or place or with any other people. I couldnt picture Slash or Axle being anything other than Rockstars. A few of the boys let the fame get the best of them but you probably would too if you got that big that fast. I'm just glad they're all alive and still doing well..
