@@betweenthebluffs9690 Yea technically because pike can carry parasites everything I've read recommends freezing for at least 48 hours to kill them before consumption. The pickling process itself will not kill these parasites since it's not actually "cooking". You're probably fine, but definitely recommend it for future batches.

Hey, I’m new to ice fishing on the backwaters. You got any tips on finding big perch like this??

Hey, They are littered in the backwaters, just have to find them. From my experience they are outside backwater channels where there is little to no current. Also big mud flats where these smaller channels run through. Lake onalaska is a good example near lacrosse Wisconsin. Lots of area to search but once found can be magical.

Kind of hard to explain.. 2x2 for the stakes, ‘peeled reed fencing’ from Menards and plastic poultry netting attached all together with zip ties. Super cheap portable panel blind! I also brush it in a little once set.
