Preciosa interpretación de esta pieza adaptada para coro. Se nota tanto trabajo detrás y tanta pasión. La he escuchado por otros coros, pero esta versión, con los arreglos añadidos resulta elegantisima. Un placer escucharos, aunque desgraciadamente no sea en directo.

The orchestra is the only part of the the whole ensemble that sounds like they have had proper time to do quality practice and to eat and charge their energy before the performance.

First heard this in 1960 by the Untouchables. Have a number of versions but nothing like this one. Wow. This should be recorded and sold. But today's music industry is a sewer.

always interesting to hear outer-Sibelius. I remember coming across Oma Maa and being amazed as to why this good engaging music wasn't heard more.

Certainly, it's incomprehensible that Sibelius music doesn't being too much sung! Hopefully our interpretation will give rise to the fact that more choruses encourage singing this precious music. Thanks for your comment!

Astonishing performance. Most enjoyable! But I find it extraordinary that a Spanish choir & orchestra should even think of performing so English a work. (Yet -- on the other hand -- I'm a Scot, & therefore also a foreigner to the English, yet I still like Elgar.)

Thank you very much, William! We're glad for your congrats although we're a choir with no professional pretension, and we faced this immense work with humility. In fact, we the Catalans, like England, we also have St George as patron saint, and all we have the same legend of the brave knight and the princess. As you, we really like Elgar and we think he wrote a lovely work! Finally, greetings to Scotland!

Jordy De Raedt thank you very much for your appreciation! Indeed, our language, Catalan, is very different from Finnish, but I will tell you a secret (do not tell anyone!): our conductor has a Finnish friend, who helped us with the pronouncement of the text. Really the meaning of the text is beautiful! After this work, we all are a little more in love with Finland!

Coral de Farmàcia. Again, great! And trust me, this is our little secret. As we say in belgium "ik zal zwijgen als een graf" (i will stay silent like a grave). I learned finnish pronuciation by listening sibelius and hearing how a "y" was pronounces "u" or "h" like "kh" while reading the texts. I hope I'll see more sibelius from you guys, you absolutely kick ass :)

Magnífico! Un poco raro que digan "mañam" en vez de "magnam", y que no haya una uniformidad en las carpetas y en las partituras (unos con fotocopias, otros con libro, etc...) y algunos detalles más, pero felicidades.

Gracias por tus felicitaciones, @Themaremonstrum! Nos alegra que te guste nuestra interpretación del Gloria de Vivaldi! En cuanto a la pronuncia de "magnam", adoptamos la pronuncia romana (también llamada pronuncia a la italiana) en vez de la pronuncia histórica (también llamada pronuncia clásica). Como el "Gloria in excelsis Deo", también llamado doxología mayor, es un himno litúrgico que tiene origen en la época del latín clásico (aproximadamente 4 siglos) debería respetarse la pronuncia histórica. La pronuncia romana (que no es la correcta pero está muy extendida) discorda de la pronuncia histórica en nueve casos; uno de estos casos es la conversión del sonido [gn] en [ñ]. Otras de estas discordancias son: la conversión de los sonidos [ce], [ci] en [che], [chi]; la conversión de los sonidos latinos [ge], [gi] en [ge], [gi] italianos; la conversión del sonido [gl] en [ll]; o la conversión de los sonidos [-tia], [-tio], [-tiu] (justitia, vitiosus, pretium) en [ts] con la "s" muy marcada. Tradicionalmente, en nuestro ámbito geográfico predomina la mala costumbre de adoptar la pronuncia romana del latín, en detrimento de la pronuncia histórica.
