@PianoWorks1
@PianoWorks1 2 жыл бұрын
The left hand notes are very similar to the right hand notes on the sheet music, just shift everything by one line (the lowest line is now G instead E, and the second lowest line is B instead of G, and the third lowest line is now D instead of B, etc.)

@PianoWorks1

Hey man! I cheat a little bit. Basically the first beat I play LH+RH, then I alternate RH>LH>RH>LH>RH (this gives me 4 RH notes and 3 LH notes, not super even but gets the job done). The next bunch of notes I repeat this whole pattern.

I saw other comments on importance of reading sheet, so i decided to learn how to sight read. Hope i will learn it soon.

Hey there! That's really impressive that you can do all that without sheet music - that in itself takes a crazy amount of skill and work. Good luck with sight reading - it's painful at first... but saves time in the long run!

Lucas. You working on one of the most deep and demanding pieces of Chopin; not so much the technical but the intimate and utterly human. To 'learn' this is a gradual process. For me I looked at it and dismissed it at first - there was so much more to attract me. Later I was drawn in by the mystery and 'something'. Recognised that its was one of 'those' you build over time - not fuss about the right notes. You put up the scaffolding first. (So to speak.......). So the first section comes okish. It starts the story. The the dark octaves in the left hand come in bit by bit like clouds before the storm breaks with fury in the second section. That section is really exciting - should grab you and ignite the soul. All this time you are letting the music do it's thing with you - later you will start to take control. You have to recognise the power. Again don't worry too much about note perfect - you can't learn it that way - just let what you have flow as it will and 'do the repairs later'. The third - 'Doppio' section is really hard to grasp. Dynamics and tempo? The examples vary hugely. Rubinstein has a moderate and most accepted/ applauded tempo. For me - it is the tempo that produces what Chopin intended. So each performer has his view. Fascinating. So - say - look at Cho / 2015 and Lisicki / 2017. Difference. Not about who is right. It's about who gives you what you most like. eg Cho is good / excellent and in competion. Lisiecki is - for me- entirely individual (he plays it as an encore) and really gets it on the third section. The rage ......... and near to Doppio tempo. I have reviewed most of what is available of this on 'Tube. I get about five of them in my first class bag. Keep on this one. Grow it /Grow into it. Get the notes as you grow. Feel it more and more. Then you will find more of Chopin - which it seems is your objective. Go well. T.
@PianoWorks1
@PianoWorks1 3 жыл бұрын
Indeed, this is a really complex piece for me, technically and emotionally. I definitely feel like I have yet to scratch the surface. The point on building the scaffolding and then fleshing it out is really interesting, I still feel constrained by my technique and the knowledge of the notes at this stage however. It's also frustrating as in my mind it sounds much more beautiful than what my fingers produce :)
@jtrevm
@jtrevm 3 жыл бұрын
@@PianoWorks1 Lucas - just back from hols. Encouragement time. Complex indeed. Most of us cannot crack the technical aspect - no perfection unless you have concert standards...(again look at Lisiecki - not his BBC proms perf). Try the first section bar by bar. Work it up note by note. Feel what is coming. Let it grow. I am now past the age of playing it with some 'success'. I see what you have - and recognise how it is. Frustrating indeed. It is of course the emotional aspect which drives it. Bar by bar you can feel it. I go after it note by note, repeating. And then let it flow as it will. It does knit - but I accept what I have. And enjoy it. Tip. Don't rush at it. Slow - Slow- It's a bit like Lego. Take a note; then the next. Da- da; da, da ; da etc. A few notes can be exquisite. Savour. The more you do so - a phrase will emerge. You love it into life. It then sneaks up on you. If you manage a line in a night that may be adequate. Just enjoy. The tough stuff waits for later- when you feel like doing battle. DO look at Lisieki. Superb.
