This was an excellent presentation. Thank you for doing such thorough research. In my experience, cessationists do not want to be convinced that the gifts of the Spirit are still available and in operation, and have to resort to dishonesty in defence of their position. I believe one reason for this is deception from the enemy who knows the power of praying in tongues. Blessings.

And what about those in the 1800s who received visions and dreams such as Ellen g White and who wrote abundantly including on prevention of disease and the christian world pays no attention to what she has said. Do you think the lord takes this negligence lightly? I think people are very mistaken in their understanding of how God moves in history and how many things he has already told us, but we keep seeking for new light just like the old Israelites when there is already people that have had dreams and wrote some earth shattering stuff

As per Jesus (Mark 3:29), blasphemy against the Holy Spirit can occur only once because it is unforgiveable. If “blasphemy against the Holy Spirit” is insulting Him for consistently prodding people to be saved was unforgiveable, no one could ever be forgiven. Many people reject salvation numerous times during their lifetime until, hopefully, they accept the surrogate sacrifice of Jesus’ Blood as payment for their sins. If blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is rejecting salvation, the first time one rejects such invitation from God, it could never be forgiven. Therefore, the latter cannot be true. Complete context defines this subject, but many who discuss this issue ignore Mark 3:30. As per context, such is declaring that Jesus was possessed by "an unclean spirit." Thus, claiming that the Holy Spirit of God was an unholy demon from Beelzebub. Ponder this: How many times did you - the reader - personally reject salvation before you were washed by the Blood of the Lamb and received the indwelling Holy Spirit? Only the Holy Spirit knows how many times He was rejected and slandered before one accepted salvation - but He forgave them - more than once.

Because you don't convert, you believe. After people believe in Jesus for eternal life ,then, they should be taught to abide in the Word of God. He changes our will and washes us with the Word. There is no other Way. He washes us, repentance is a gift.

If you do this what you describe, you are committing blasphemy of the holy spirit. There is only mercy if you do it in ignorance out of unbelief. It is forbidden to talk against the holy spirit.

What if I called a prophet false because of misunderstanding and now I think this prophet is true? Have I committed the unforgivable sin?
@KindGottes079424 күн бұрын
@maagdas0321 no, it needs to be a willful act not out of ignorance. Secondly you are afraid of the sin so you have not committed it. Only people who dont care commit it mostly

@@KindGottes0794To commit the sin, do you have to purposely say it, totally against God, and dont want to be saved? I said that the devil cannot deceive me into thinking I've committed it, and I got scared thinking I said it to the holy Spirit. I also quoted something Jesus said in the Bible "go away evil doers, I don't know you" and I accidentally said Spirit. I didn't mean it and I don't have hate towards Jesus, I prayed to God saying I need to holy Spirit and accidentally said "i don't want it" What I meant to say was: "I don't want it to leave me" because I want the spirit in me. I prayed and asked for forgiveness and I uttered what I said in prayer, I don't know if that's bad since it's required to confess your sins. I pray out loud. I would never utter something evil to the holy Spirit, knowing who I'm talking to and mean it. Am I okay?

"that tongues" came from second great awakening of protestantism -> pentecostalism -> charismatic groups which are in fact hinduism spirits. Augustine of Hippo Homily, 6 on the First Epistle of John, part 10 said that it was only temporary gift for spreading the gospel, it wasnt even existed at his lifetime and no any record in christian history till the second great awakening of protestantism
@FinnKClipsEnglishАй бұрын
@Dziomolek Why do you only mention St Augustine and not other church fathers such as Irenaeus of Lyons or Tertullian? Both mention speaking in tongues - after the first century! Speaking in tongues has never ceased in church history and cessationism is unhistorical - and clearly unbiblical.
@richardhayward58142 ай бұрын
If other people are not built up unless they understand what is said by means of an interpreter, how is someone who speaks in a tongue built up unless he is given understanding of it? If building up requires an understanding, how is the speaker himself built up without an understanding of what he is saying?
@el-sig22492 ай бұрын
Well done. The question of tongues is that simple. People are unable to cope with the reality because it is outside of their experience. That means that they need much humility to be able to even question, not to talk about understanding.

The actual definition of blaspheming the Holy Spirit would be pretending to be talking as the Holy Spirit through transcendental meditation. There's tech out there where people can mess with others hearing and stuff. If someone were to use that to pretend to be God or something like that, it would be dangerously close to blaspheming the Holy Spirit. We've all heard of broadcasting stuff through people's fillings and such---maybe it's true, maybe it's not. My Father takes that stuff seriously. However, maligning someone with the Holy Spirit is dangerous too. it's all dangerous. Much better to join up with the person who has the Holy Spirit.
@petegwell2 ай бұрын
Hey! The Holy Spirit seems to be of the earth from what I can tell---with the pleasure seekers. ie., The Holy Spirit was NOT with the Spanish Inquisition, but my Father was. He's always playing catch up. After a while, he realized that those who were breaking church law, actually had the Holy Spirit. We are a petting zoo to Him I think. They are plural. The Lord of Hosts. They want us to be happy, but they are always behind. You are right I wouldn't limit him, but I wouldn't rule out things like 'New Age'. Whatever is coming will be called New Age imho. It will scare Christians, because they aren't good any more. They have a rotten tree of good and evil imho. This is the rapture, I am sure. Be blessed brother!!!!

I think when Jesus talked about this sin it was specific to to scribes and Pharisees at the time because Jesus was walking around still on the earth. I believe It’s not a sin that a person can commit today.
@calicoesblue47033 ай бұрын
That is wrong. That law has never changed. That is like saying a curse word today and saying that, that curse word is no longer a sin today & that it was only considered a sin to the Scribes & Pharisees. God forgives sin but not Blaspheme against the Spirit.
@VoltronLion3 ай бұрын
Read that passage in your Bible, and this time read it in context. If you read it you will notice a sentence in a parentheses, it says; “Jesus knew their thoughts”. That little sentence doesn’t really need to be there if you take this passage at face value however, since most people read things out of context, when you take the TEXT out of the CONTEXT, you are left with the CON. 😂 So read that passage again and this time when you come to that little area at the end in parentheses, that says “Jesus knew their thoughts” then think about it for a second, or however long you need to until you understand what it means and if you still don’t understand why it’s there, the. It’s more than ok, to ask someone. 😂 On the off chance you don’t even know what scripture I’m talking about, then you probably have no business saying what you just said to start with do you? 😂
@diotitus2 ай бұрын
@@VoltronLion When you emphasized the passage, "Jesus knew their thoughts", does that mean the Unpardonable Sin can be committed simply in the mind by thinking a thought?
