No bevel because it’s a convex edge. Putting a V edge bevel on it, ruins it. I’m sure you knew that already though. Cheers

You're a cool guy and it's really nice to see somebody leaving a little pantina on the older carbon knives. So many of these "restoration" types bring it down to raw metal and it's so sad to see. Nothing's better than that gorgeous, 50 year old patinas you get on some pieces.

Contact CASE and they will more than likely have a replacement shield for the knife since it’s not an old knife.They will need a picture and a model and year so they can check their stock. If they have one they will send it to you for FREE. They are very good about taking care of the customer.👍👏🇺🇸

Man!! I love these Texas Antique Stores!! Need to get back out there and hunt Some of these sellers sure want premium prices for their old knives!! That camp king is missing the scale covers and bell.. I believe I've paid $15 for one with the covers and the bell. That yellow Soddy Jr. is actually newer than you think. haha. Probably 2020 or newer kind of beat up but not bad for $10. You can request the badge from Case under warranty.

If there is no makers mark it’s usually China or Pakistan. USA blades always have USA on them. Or if it’s Gerber Portland Oregon. Or older knives Providence RI. I’ve seen some ppl take those old machetes and if the handle is broke replace it with a nice Wood handle.

I restored an old machete and replaced the old plastic handles with a wooden one. It was a fun project.

You did good to pass on the campking and the Parker I think. The Parker was probably made by Bear and son in Jacksonville Alabama, and the campkings are decent knives but don't bring much money.

The Pakistan ones are usually marked with Pakistan on the blade. They also make them to look just like the German ones but don’t stamp the bear hunter on the tang
