My favourite Pat Benatar song. When I heard the start of this I noticed the tempo was slower than I'd heard it sung before and thought perhaps father time was catching up with her voice but then she wound up and pow! Still got it.

I'm a child of the 70s and Pat is one of MANY that I saw live and loved over the years but these days I just don't know whether to be amazed by how good they sound or suspicious that it's just another act using tracks. Technology and the dishonest use of it by many have really sucked a lot of the magic out of "live" shows.
@sarsippius67Ай бұрын
@@ajo3085 I'm from that same wonderful time period as well, and I have that same thought every time I see a band from "back in the day" too. I think use of backing tracks is pretty ubiquitous throughout the industry, Pat didn't SEEM to be relying heavily on it on this night but really who knows?
@ajo3085Ай бұрын
@@sarsippius67 It's definitely sad it's come to this point where we are in doubt. That last few times I've seen Alice Cooper (for instance), I've been amazed how little his voice has changed but then you look at the ones who have been caught and it gets you wondering. Best case scenario Pat, Alice and others are still singing live but given the amount of cheating that has gone on in the past decade or so, doubt really messes with your enjoyment. Very sad.
@sarsippius67Ай бұрын
@@ajo3085 Seems we have to suspend disbelief, which is hard for a cynic such as myself! That said, I'll see Alice again too because those are truly fun shows

Thanks for the post. Saw Pat Benatar on her Get Nervous Tour in late 82. If my memory is correct Men at Work was the warm up band. Back in the day Pat and her band put on one hellva show. All that for less than ten dollars. Lmao
@sarsippius67Ай бұрын
@@curtisphilumalee1447 that's a great memory to have! 82 is when I started going to shows and it was $13.50 all day 5 band show at old JFK stadium. We got a good deal for a buck in the days the before the birth of Live Nation and the rest of the promoter/ticket seller monopolies

I’m girlfriend at the time which is my wife now. We were talking about the concert as she heard your upload playing on my phone. She reminded me we drank a bunch of jungle juice before the concert with our friends out in the parking lot and the girls were able to sneak in two flasks because the cops wouldn’t search the girls. Anyways she told me Pat Benatar opened up with Get Nervous and the stage lights went into strobing mode and you guessed it I got ill. Lmao Things to tend to forget but are reminded about 40 years later. Again thanks for upload. Enjoyed it.

@sarsippius67Ай бұрын
@@mizzury54 easy now. I AM the age of most of these fans, older than half the room, I saw Pat in 1980 and here again a week and half ago. I was agreeing with the previous comment about it being a bit dead, which in my experience is what you get in AC casino shows on "classic bands". Alot of folks there because they're staying at the casino so they'll go see a show on the way through like it's Circ de Soleil. As opposed to a club show or an arena show. That's all. Peace.
