I was a Freshman this year with the Summerville High School band. We went to the same BOA competition as Byrnes in Johnson City, TN in September. We had the privilege of watching their performance, albeit from the back stands. I remember this day vividly. They were so incredibly good. I was mesmerized by their Red, White, and Blue uniforms and their thunderous sound in that dome. This is still one of my top-5 high school band shows. Lassiter High School 2002 is #1, Ronald Reagan HS 2003 is #2, and Byrnes 2002 is #3. I'll put the year that we won state at #4 and our 2002 performance at #5.

It's OK, It's just high school marching band😉 The real shocker is how poorly this aged given today's sensitivity to cultural appropriation. Doubt they could get away with performing the haka these days😬

Has SHHS always marched drum corps-style, for those who know? I know that they do now, but I’m not sure if they always did. Imma be doing my first year of marching this coming year, and I’m super nervous, but I wanna join the Bluecoats when I’m older because they’re the best. You can’t change my mind.

My daughter, Amy Fischer, marched with a mellophone. My son, Scott Fischer, died in 1993. He played the trombone. LHS won State that year. Cindy Prather ❤️❤️

As a current member of the band I am shocked by the amount of stuff they have that we don’t or don’t do anymore and the amount of people, for example everything to the right of aux is not with us currently and we have no drum line anymore

Oh how I miss this, Friday Night Football games and then Competitions were one of the Highlights of my life. My baby girl was in Color Guard and my youngest baby girl in the Marching Band. I wish I could find the Can Can, I believe that would have been 2001. ❤
