This was one of the first songs I heard after I got out of Air Force Basic Training in May 1983 on a San Antonio radio station. Tony Carey is the lead singer of Planet P. Project. He also has a great song, "I Won't Be Home Tonight" that came out on 1982.

Charmed LIfe is an excellent album, although it sounds a bit too AOR and generic at places. It's just that it's not the typical Idol sound (certainly due to the fact that Stevens left). Anyway, I love that album equally as Rebel Yell and KIngs & Queens of the underground. "Pumping on steel", 'Prodigal blues", "LA Woman" cover, "Cradle of Love" and "The right way" are absolute classics.

Great point about the 80s being dominated by the band and members of Genesis.
Thats crazy how they could have any Hendrix samples they wanted! I think I found a 12 inch single from them without a cover once and I picked it up thinking of Mansons song but remember thinking the label looked too old to be Manson. I thought I heard some enigma influence on that clip you played. Anyway nice one today, snuck a band in that must look be looked into further. ✌🏼👉🏼

@@therockcave Ill be 60 in November. I'm a guitarist/songwriter. I was more into heavier rock music back then and New Adventures was definitely more rocky than the jangly stuff I associated REM with.
