thanks for your video! If you had to chose between volume 1 and 2, wich one do you think would be the best to start with ? I feel like volume 2 has more blank houses, wich I this is a bit better
@DustyAndDice
@DustyAndDice 28 күн бұрын
I don’t have 1 so I can’t comment on it. I would choose based on what I plan to run and who I am running for. The houses are cool but is there a lot of houses in my game and will the battles take place there or am I using them as visuals for my party? I would pick based on the game you’re running and the party you’re running for.

It doesn’t tell you to level up but you can choose to level up after a significant moment. I think it said somewhere that your character could be levels 1-3 so if you start at level 1 you should be alright to level up. I stayed at level 1 and died a couple times so maybe I should have leveled up.

He's right. I've been DMing for less than a year. I have a homebrew campaign that I created before I started. We decided to do Lost Mine of Phandelver instead of running what I've got. Best. Decision. Ever. There's so much that goes into being a DM that you don't realize until you actually jump in and do it.

I’m going through DM burn out right now so one of my players that have never DM’d before has stepped up to try DMing. I loaned him my copy of a book that has 140 adventures. All he has to do is pick a level appropriate adventure, draw the map out, and run the game.

I'm all for using Generative AI to expand on Ideas created by humans. I personally have issues organizating information, so AI as a tool is useful to wrangle ideas that I have already written down. People who play tabletop RPG's only care about having fun. If AI makes getting fun out of session easier for a DM, what is the problem here? You're coming off as someone who has never played any tabletop game, let alone tried to run a campaign.

Love rivers in DND. How do you handle river speed if someone falls in the river or like how the tree fell in the river?
@DustyAndDice
@DustyAndDice 7 ай бұрын
Idk how other people would handle it but I would have the person make athletic checks or they start moving down the river. Passed checks they can choose direction the move, likely at a reduced movement. But if they fail they are moving X squares down the river
