A lot of the photos used James Popsys' free preset, sign up his newsletter and you get it for free in his shop, it's the one with bright orange/red tone and slightly overexposed. Thank you. You can't see a big difference in the video and image quality. I now have the s5ii with the 28 200 and get less mft in the picture than with the 12-200. I'm also missing 60P and that's only possible with aps-c so there's even less in the picture. I send the 28 200 back and buy the g9ii

i dont have a G100 but from all the reviews i've seen it appears that it's not as well regarded as a video camera due to severe 4k crop and lack of IBIS, it's still a pretty good super compact photo camera though, that has some decent video features. I'd pick G80, G90, GX8, GX9 over G100.

Both shot in 1080p 50p/60p, natural profile. The S1R has a little crop in 4k video recording hence 1080p. All photos and video are taken at widest aperture possible. When looking at the bokeh, the difference is not very big, f2.8 on fullframe would yield significantly stronger bokeh. Leica 12-60 is half the size and weight, making it a much better travel companion, as well as vlogging lens. Leica 12-60 make up the aperture disadvantage by having closer focusing distance. Overall, i think one can confidently shoot with leica 12-60 without worrying about missing out on fullframe look. Btw leica 12-60 has a max aperture of f3.5 at 25mm. Ofc i got the S9 to test out the sharpness between the two lenses: here's the result kzbin.infoUgkxnQ5B4sdLQgxOSF_92W1R7YcU5I12LfX6?si=WEvTPXsu5b3BaUrK In a word, the Lumix 24-105mm f4 destroyed the Leica 12-60, not even close! WOW

Aside from my 45mm f/1.8, this is my favorite Micro Four Thirds lens. I use two GX800 bodies for events-one paired with the 15mm and the other with the 45mm. They’re perfect for photos, and the best part is that no one feels intimidated by the setup. Most photographers I met underestimate what this camera cna do with the small primes.

Recently, I sold my Sony ZV-E1 and decided to stick with the G9II. While the ZV-E1 is better in low light, the G9II is, overall, the better camera for me-especially because of the lens selection. What’s your opinion on the PL 10-25? I freed up $1,500 from selling the Sony and have been seriously considering adding it to my kit. I already own quite a bit of PL glass, but this one’s still missing. The f/1.7 aperture and versatile focal range seem perfect for events, but I’m hesitant because of its size and weight. Are you ok with the size and weight?
@AiurMedia28 күн бұрын
@bastian.michel i've reviewed the PL 10-25mm as well, its about the same size and weight of a fullframe standard zoom lens, so its not bad at all, considering s5ii has the exact same body. In my opinion its well worth it if you shoot anything professionally, for casual shoot i find myself always reach for smaller lenses like leica 12-60, 8-18.

Back then, Firmware 2.4 completely transformed my camera into what felt like an entirely different model. It drastically improved the autofocus performance. I still have it, even though I now use the G9II. I’m not sure what to do with it, but something in me just can’t let it go. It’s strange-this has never happened to me before. I guess I’ve grown emotionally attached to the G9.

The reason I'm watching this is because Corel VS kept messing up my exports. I import a video into VS, chop it up/edit parts, then export it. Sometimes it's worked; but lately, the audio and video were misaligned. I did tons of experiments and recorded my results, and consulted with customer service. I finally gave up and used OpenShot(?) which has worse UX but at least the exports worked right.

I upgraded to G90 a month ago (keeping the G80 still) and am quite happy about its pros. Standouts for me are: better grip and body more buttons, better placed, scroll wheel much better and larger EVF unlimited video, headphone jack & better mic jack placement auto ISO in manual video MyMenu (customizable) minimum shutter speed for aperture priority USB charging and there's more :) look up Mirrorless Comparison and DPR forum, MFT section

@KelvinSchwartzGrunlicht Thanks for your insightful reply. I am wondering if the autofocus has been improved while shooting video on the G90/95/97 when compared with the G80/85. I asked because my G85 will have to be in manual focus in order to really reliable! Thanks again!

@@kentcs5367 I've only shot a few casual minutes so far but do expect some improvement. G9 and GH5 onwards are supposedly even better. If using MF for solo video shots the best trick I've seen is using a physical remote as half-press- focus trigger. And if you really need dead on MFT PDAF in this price range there's only E-M1 II AFAIK.

Great review, excellent photo and video examples, well done. I also happen to agree with all your well presented points :). For anyone looking for more Lumix/MFT series details search in the MFT section of the DPR forum. I also had unlimited video as a hard req. and had to decide between G90 or GH5 and eventually found a €300 used G90 body in great condition about a month ago. Plan B would have been something like OM-5, OM-1 or G9 II at 2-3x cost. Plan C perhaps a compact video beast like ZV-1 or G7 X III. For low budget beginners with modest video needs the E-M1 II is fantastic value now. Anyway, first G90 impression is really good, only regret is getting a G80 first a few years ago but so be it.

Good video. This is one of my favorite lenses. But i must mke one remark. The 'soft spot in some situations' that you mention is optically impossible. Think it over and you will understand why your remark is nonsense. A lens is either sharp or it is not., in all situations. But an occassional fingerprint on the front element could have this effect. I love your sample images.
