I’m going to college next year in a completely different city from my family and this song just hits me right in the heart. I have always been close to my family especially my little sister, and the thought of leaving them and going to study in a completely different city alone, without family nearby, well it ain’t pretty. You know sometimes it keeps me up at night, thinking if going to the college and pursuing a course I’m not really sure I want, is worth it. Worth the fact that I’d be living all alone in a different city with my family and friends out of walking or even driving distance. Growing up I always knew what profession my parents wanted me to have, even as an elementary school student. So I set that as my goal and my dream, and whenever my family asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would always confidently answer “I wanna be a doctor” cliche answer, I know. But now, nearing my graduation I’m not quite sure what I want anymore… Maybe it’s because growing up I was never really truly alone, on the account of having multiple siblings and cousins constantly around, or maybe it’s because they all seem to have their lives so put together that I grabbed the first thing that would make it seem like I had my life is put together as well? Maybe I just didn’t want to disappoint my parents, maybe this is just me being clingy and dramatic, or maybe it’s a mix of all of these, who knows? Anyways, I haven’t even left home yet and I already feel miserable, it’s honestly a bit pathetic. Fingers crossed it won’t always feel like this though, yeah? PS: For those who read what I wrote I’m sorry for ranting, I honestly blame sleep deprivation for this (fuck you research and fuck the mountain of assignments and projects our teachers assigned to us even when they knew our final defense is only a few weeks away and we still have to finish said research). PSS: Great song by the way, I hope to hear the full version of it someday and I hope that you feel better (I know this makes it sound like your sick, but I’ve been told I suck at comforting people, something my little sister can attest to).
