what gems of songs! But in the 60s and 70s this great composer Ravi did not get the kind of popular recognition that S.J ,L.P. and the Burman's got! Very sad! He deserved much more than he got during his lifetime.Popularity has a lot to do with media publicity and box office success than the value of the song and composer!

Rev Srikantji_ God bless you. Will you believe_ once I sent an audio cassette to this great son of Lahre on his birthday in 1990 in which I recorded his 17 songs of my choice with my narration. My voice was " O P Nayyar jaise Sangeetkar iss duniyan mein baar baar nahin aate_ main rahun ya na rahun_ O P Nayyar Sahab rahe ya na rahen lekin main ek baat jaanta hun_As and when the history of Indian music shall be written_ his name will go very down in its channels. Who will belive he was in tears after listening my this cassette and rang me from Hyderabad and also wrote me letter which I have preserved. He kept on ringing me every Saturday at 7 A M for two months and finally came to me to stay with me for ten days as my father on 30 th July 1992. S C Pruthi Sonepat
