Hey great video awesome diving up north! Would recommend taking your snorkel out of your mouth just before your dive if your snooping snap in my opinion I think they can hear the water filling up the snorkel.

Porae are really similar eating to tarakihi, I don’t know why people snob them but they’re actually really good. Over winter I normally take a couple when I see them if there’s no snapper around

Very jealous, was in a remote place similar to this south coast NSW today for a dive, abalone octopus and some Kina… However your spots looks a tad bit prettier,
