The Rohr cars have such a sleek futuristic look still. The brown is so iconic, wish they kept it on the front but ah well, too 70s I guess lol

Athens and other European cities have to do something about graffiti. It just gives a negative vine. NYC dealt with this by continually removing it as soon as it appeared. It eventually wears out the graffiti vandals.

We took the train from Union Station, Wash.D.C. to Chicago....watch out! Sleeper roomette on the lower level at the front end of the car had screaming metal on metal noises all night as the car rock and rolled on and on. Upper deck sleeper rooms much quieter. Great info on this video.

I will most certainly appreciate the Wifi as a local when I use my laptop on the Metro. It will make it a lot easier for what I’m writing. The metal piece you see there is the material the 8000 series will be made out of; it will be made out of Aluminum, making it lighter than the 7000 series. It should also make it quieter and reduce the vibrations in the station, since you can definitely feel it when a 7000 series train enters a station as opposed to an older train. Nice video

I'm a Japanese Nintendo fan. I also visited the Nintendo Museum last month. The entrance sign was visible from the nearby parking lot. There were three buildings there, each labeled an art museum, a shop, and a cafe & workshop. I'm really looking forward to the opening!
@SoloTravelPOVАй бұрын
The nearby neighborhood is nice! I’m so excited to visit again one day, and experience the Nintendo Museum inside (instead of from the parking lot 😄😄) Looking forward to the opening soon 🤞🤞

Great video displaying a new line on our excellent metro system. Its a total shame that there had been a recent influx of assholes that jump over the turnstiles to totally ruin it 🙄

By the way the paper cards that you biy from the mashine can be reloaded too once completely emptied and the time ends completely from the last ticket (each 1.2 euro ticket lasts for 90 minutes of transport/usage on metro, tram, trolleybus, bus ,and train-(but the trains only inside Athens)

In my opinion, the tram should have less frequent stops and higher speeds, like a suburban railway, as currently it is often slower than the bus routes which parallel it.
@goatgamer0012 ай бұрын
Although the layout of the tram interchange is interesting and convenient, as there is cross-platform interchange to both directions of the costal route, the trams are not timed for instant interchange and the two lines still share a common section, which reduces capacity. Before 2021, an interchange was not required as there was a route between each two of the three legs of the network.

I think the graffiti might be putting tourists off from riding the Athens subway. The train on line 1 you rode might have had a broken cab window or two.

I like that they've added some more colour into the trains. I felt that all American metro trains have felt a little too sterile in the past. I hope they keep the cherry blossom decals on the trains. I think they did a wonderful job with the trains, just wish they were fully walkthrough instead of only in married pairs.
@SoloTravelPOVАй бұрын
Yes they look great! I agree it would have been nice to have a full walkthrough. Maybe in a far future iteration, if it could technically work 🤞🤞
