Muslims don’t believe in a moon God. There’s God the creator and everything else, the creation. The moon is a creation of God. The verse you’re referring to about deceiving is about those who plan to deceive others. God deceives them due to their own evil plots. For example, when pharaoh ordered all baby boys to be killed, in that plot, God brought Moses to destroy pharaoh. Thus using pharaohs own plan against him. Also, please read the Quran without any presuppositions. Come to it with a clean slate, not with an opinion you’ve already formulated. Otherwise you won’t find guidance. God bless.

But best of all is the Holy Spirit in me that gives me wisdom and knowledge. My friend, please be humble and honest with yourself.
