Sorry to get off subject, but what did you all think about the paint jobs at the Dallas Lowrider show? I have much respect for the work involved in those paint jobs, but I only saw a few that were almost perfect and unfortunately I saw a ton that the clear was crazed or barely glossy and almost none of them had a blocked and re-cleared (flow-coat) to hide the stripes. Like I said, I know from experience it takes a lot of work but some of it was just average at best. Maybe I am biased from my own work and seeing some really high end stuff but what is your honest opinion? Love the videos guys and keep it up!!!! Thanks!

Thanks for the support! Unfortunately none of us got a chance to make it to the Dallas show this year but unfortunately lazy paint jobs are popping up everywhere. I don’t know if it’s because of inflation so people are going with the cheapest painter or the impatience of this generation of builders who want instant gratification but I’ve seen it here in Florida, New Mexico and Arizona and it’s a shame. The paint jobs are one of the main things lowriders are known for so they gotta be right. I know that on this coast lowriders are a dying breed and the paint shops seem to want quantity over quality. That’s why I’m trying to learn as much as I can about painting lol.

@@3wheelwilly I think you are in the right area and around the right people to learn plenty about paint. I've been doing it about 15 years and I'm still learning, I think we all still are. lol. Yeah, I think the problem with the paint jobs I saw was they didn't take the time to intercoat clear the artwork before they final cleared it. The artwork dries and cures too fast to let it sit for days before you final clear it so you don't get that chemical adhesion. You either need chemical or mechanical adhesion otherwise the top layer with shrink back and crack or wrinkle. I also saw a lot of them using cheap clear and you tell by the lack of gloss and dryspray and orange peel. I would love to see a podcast from you guys on paint if you are looking for suggestions. lol Thanks again and keep up the awesome videos!

It depends on the car. I took the tint off my TC because I wanted to bang a chrome logo. I wasn’t mad at the tint on the car when it had it. No tint is a more traditional look tho.

Nice work. Seems a little slow on the lift/drop. I know you could change that. Turned out great. I also got a Black 65 Riviera on Air Ride. BC Fab Stage III kit. Redoing a lot of it as we speak. The 65 Riv is one of GM's sexiest creations in my opinion.

Your video came up in recommendations (since I've been looking up lowriders lately) . Liked and subscribed. Great content, I'll definitely check out your other videos. I've always loved lowrider cars, culture, etc. I had a 64 Impala and a 79 Monte Carlo back in the 90's.... swapped a set of "13 Daytons between the two.... never got either completed into a true lowrider, hydraulics, etc.... got into making cars faster instead. I'm 50 now and more into low and slow. Videos like this tempt me to complete a car nowadays like I would've loved back then.
