Greetings from Atlanta, Georgia. As a kitchen worker I often wear grease-laden utility workwear, but I have such a fascination with the bespoke tailoring process. I often buy The Rake bi-monthly publication, mostly to view the 'Atelier' section you guys put in there, hoping for more of an inside glimpse into a world I will never know. Love watching Mr. Terry Haste from Kent & Haste work, along side with his trouser maker.

Glad to see I'm not the only one frustrating their tailors with weight loss! 😅 For the public record, Tom's Kent Haste suits are some of the best looking in London. He looks impeccable every time I see him. It's beginning to give me a complex. lol.

i think what your tailor ( i dont know his second name and would find it rude calling him by his first) uses as an argument for a Navy suit is Probably my Personal STrongest Argument Against it to me it jsut feels so very boring why i would i chose the same color thath absolutely everyone else seems to be using esepcialy many politicans and people who really dont know all thath mucha bout suits ( nor do they seem to care ) my goal would always be to positively stand out without being flashy that can mean pinstripe chalkstripe prince of wales or just another color then plain navy on a side note could you explain to me what the point behind the two pockets on one side but only one pocket on the other is becose im aware it is utterly common but i just find it to be looking quite asymetric

There is Just nothing more extraodinarily Elegant then a Double Breasted Peak Lapel suit I have one With Pinstripe aswell as sligtly smaller lapels ( becose its of the rack and as much as i do love larfe lapels i fou cant goo to a tailor for every suit they are hard to get so i chose the biggest ones i found in a proper quality suit )

as Somone who is incrdible fond of very huge lapels aswell as of double breasted suits i could not be more fond of your first suit ( the one you are wearing in the video) aswell as of the masterpiece of a suit one the right side of the picture at 1:36

Tom, as the owner of several double breasted suits I have to say a problem is being able to button them (they need to be kept buttoned when worn to maintain the military look) while holding keys, a wallet and mobile phone in situ. Perhaps in the next video you might point out how Terry caters for that and does so without ruining the line of the jacket.

So happy you caught the excess in the chest - I thought, perhaps, it was just me. There's a balance on the armscye that, when done right, is fabulous. Being able to move the arm about without stressing the material. If someone is a little twitchy about the armscye, they could flatten the bottom of it, this allows for movement without it sitting right at the armpit.

@downingbethune87583 ай бұрын
Mr Haste is exactly right, which given his profession as a Master Tailor is no surprise. Plain gray and plain blue. Next up would be a pin stripe followed by a classic navy blazer and a couple of trousers. You could stop there but what's the point in that?
@ABC-rh7zc3 ай бұрын
I disagree. After the navy and grey suits, I would recommend more navy and grey suits, but with different cloth weight so that you have something to wear and be comfortable in all year round. In fact, I would start with 3 navy suits, for winter, mid-season and summer.

Can't take anything you say as credible, you think you are an expert but until you smoke Nicaraguan and Dominican cigars for 80% less the cost. Plus I had so many defective cigars from Cuba I decided to stop smoking them altogether . I have been smoking cigars for 55 years and lived in Cuba for two years and Nicaraguan cigars are the best in the world from quality, consistency and rollers nothing can come close at $10 to $20 compared to Cuban cigars overvalued at $80 to $200 just plain ridiculous.
