I saw them at the Glasgow Apollo and they were in a different league to anything else at the time, including Maiden ,Saxon etc.The guy singing isn't a patch on the original singer, nowhere near.

Keep it live Brian always a pleasure hearing your music 🎶 and especially for today’s generation to appreciate where all these classics came from and without them we have pop rubbish lol. Keep it metal 🎸 Ps love your Gibson V. I ordering what pickups do you use here for your sound? Or are they stock ?

Great recognisable vocals here and melodic. Frustrates me as to why they never became bigger like silly bands of today, jeez we have junked up Ozzy with horrendous vocals yet Diamond head have this style that is classic and I personally love this style and they have certainly influenced me as a musician and for me I’m thankful of these bands and being from the uk as well so I am biased 🤭 but hey great bands come from the uk who influenced USA bands too.

Diamond head far better musically than Metallica by a long shot. Diamond head written great tunes and yes they should of been bigger than they are in all honesty

I thought this song originally belonged to diamond head and metallica covered it in kill em all. Glad to know its the other way around ,as a metallica fan.

They remastered the first album in (I wanna say) 1996, and it sounded amazing. I had most of the tracks on a comp' album called "The Metallica-era" which was all the songs Metallica covered, but by the original artists. The CD was stolen years ago, and I can't find the mix anywhere on KZbin. It was possibly the best remastering of an album I've ever heard (especially this song, and ESPECIALLY the middle sexy part). Absolutely stellar

Vim aqui por causa do Metallica e achei ótimo essa banda! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I call this wave hard metal. Because it was born from mixing elements of hard rock that departed from the blues, such as Van Halen and Rainbow. With elements of metal. Therefore, we find this vitality and clear voice in it. The rhythm is medium speed. Unlike the traditional heavy metal that appeared with Black Sabbath and was restored with Smee Doom. We find that heavy metal, as its name indicates, suggests heavy weight, slowness, darkness, and depth. These labels and titles put out by the press are ridiculous and misleading

I can hear a more 70s sound, compared to Metallica’s version, which surprisingly sounds more authentic than the latter. Unsure how Metallica managed to play the same song virtually the same way but sounding vastly different

In some ways this version feels like it's a cover of Metallica's cover of Diamond Head's original version, and in other ways it feels like a reclamation of this song away from Metallica and back to its true owner. And somehow it's both of these at the same time.

Can someone please explain to me why Brian Tatler hasn't been inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame yet?

Brian Tatler is a fockin' legendary guitarist! "Am I Evil"'s solo (solos?, there's like 3-4 in there) is comparable to the mastery of Vivaldi.

Brian Tatler still going strong. I came to know Diamond Head by way of my all-time favorite group, Megadeth, and what are my all-time favorite guitarists Dave Mustaine. And of course Metallica's James Hetfield also has praised diamond Head and Brian Tatler specifically asa huge inspiration. I can see why. Gibson should come to Brian with the offer of making a signature guitar for him!

Lyrics [Verse 1] Now I see his face, I've seen him smile Such a lonely place, no golden mile His eyes tell morbid tales of his black heart His deeds through ages past tell of his part [Chorus] I see his face, I see his smile Time to die Oh, oh, oh [Verse 2] An angel from below, change my dreams I want for glory's hour, for wealth's esteem I wish to sell my soul, to be reborn I wish for earthly riches, don't want no crown of thorns [Chorus] I see his face, I see his smile Time to die Oh, oh, woah-oh [Guitar Solo] [Verse 3] I was born a fool, don't want to stay that way Devil take my soul, with diamonds you repay I don't care for heaven, don't you look for me to cry And I will burn in hell from the day I die [Chorus] I see his face, I see his smile Time to die Oh, oh, woah-oh
