The U.S. should have bought this island from the British!… Seems like it should belong to the state of Maine!

Visited here in 2015. Well worth it! Tide wasn't right to do the 4-hour tour so we took the 2-hour one.

I first visited with my parents in 1958. we came yearly in August after that to Wilson's Beach. I remember crank phones. Mrs. Newman would take the calls and of course all of Campobello was party lines. Floyd 'Granny' Cook would take us out on his fishing boat. I was friends with Noel Cook, later on Steve Newman and others. My best old friend Harold Newman. He'd take me out on his boat so I could scuba dive virgin sites. What a place. I'll never go back because I want to remember it it as it was. I loved the place more than anywhere on earth, I always will.

Buddy, as someone who frequents joggins, and hunts fossils across New Brunswick I can tell you that joggins is in fact about a 15ish million year old lapse of time, if you’re disputing this you either never been or are ignorant

Kalibur Hi Kalibur, I live in Nova Scotia/Halifax and I would love to hunt some fossils. In mind I would like fossils of animals and not plants. Can we find animal fossils at Joggins or there is another region in NS that’s better to find animal fossils. Thank you for any information.
@Kaliburrrr4 жыл бұрын
@@Thiago43149 I've heard rumors of crustacean fossils at Cape Engrage but I ain't sharing the spot until I've been next spring
@Kaliburrrr4 жыл бұрын
@@Thiago43149 If you're new to fossil hunting one thing you need to understand is how incredibly rare animal fossils are aside beaches with things like ammonites and belomites. You can find lots of crazy things but most of it will be plants as they're everywhere so the chance of being fossilized is much greater. Very few animals are fossilized, I suggest traveling outside of NB for such things or researching and finding your own spot, but our geography limits us, coasts are the best bet. Animals will be most likely be found in ancient bogs, mudslides, rockslides, shallow lakebeds, somewhere where something could be quickly buried by circumstance is your best bet

If I wanted to take my boat through the reversing falls, I assume it would be best during high tide?
@Hamilcar_Stronginthearm7 жыл бұрын
There are two 'slack tides' in the tidal cycle, one a couple hours after high tide (at high tide the water is rushing up the river) and one a couple hours after low tide. Be sure of your timing...

For a travel show there are a lot of video production errors. You don't hold a lav mic like a stick mic. Jump cuts look bad. The framing in the interviews was wrong. It was way too profile. The one that was correct wasn't mic'd or lit. Your audio breaks up a lot.

I was back home in St. Andrews with my NightSkyTours business in the mid-late 2000's. I remember playing fetch with Smudge on the front lawn of the Algonquin, where I had my daytime solar and nighttime telescopes set up.. Great times!

September 1982, I had the privilege of accompanying a group of senior citizens to Nova Scotia, including a visit to the Bay of Fundy. It was something seeing it bone dry, knowing that it fills back up again in a short period of time. Now I am a senior citizen and still have fond memories of that trip.
@tburns92079 жыл бұрын
FYI the bay also moves enough water ever 12 hours to fill the grand canyon.

Sorry, the Jet Ride doesn't exist anymore. The owner retired and couldn't find a local buyer for this attraction. However there still are zip lines along side the falls.
