I use a wireless Line 6 and it works perfect in this. The neck I find, as someone with severe arthritis is easy to play on and the large fret markers make it easy for old eyes to see. I do agree, the pick ups are mediocre, but I use a Headrush or Headrush Prime, so I can EQ easily what I need. I personally hate when people say "It's good for the price" It is either good, or it isn't price is indifferent. If budget is an issue, you can't go wrong with this or an Ibanez Jem Jr, and they may work for you forever, don't try to excuse for the price. The looks, and the sound, and attention this guitar gets, I have no issue having it on stage

the distributor accidentally sent two Mario pedals instead of the harmonizers we ordered. ummm I hate to sound old, but I dicked with that thing for 10 minutes and found no useful sounds. happy for you that you did. PS I know where to get a good deal on a couple of them.

Tuners shouldn’t be judged by staying in tune with a Floyd Rose. No tuner can be faulted for decreasing and increasing the tension so extremely. It’s the smooth feeling, the solid gearing and the strong clamp down on locking tuners. The higher gear ratio, like 18:1 minimum for fine tuning. Good finish and solid construction are what makes a good tuner. And it’s not redundant to use locking tuners ever. The locking nut is to maintain tuning with the Floyd. The locking tuners are for ease of string replacement. …like the other guy said.

@TheGuitarNinja
@TheGuitarNinja 5 ай бұрын
Fair. The tuner helps both hold tune and make re-stringing easier. The locking nut is simple for holding tune while using a floating tremolo. so they are a little redundant together but its like a seatbelt and an airbag. you dont really need both, but its better to have both if you can.

My dad is one of those guys who hears it the second you go 3 cents off tune. One of those guys who has an all-day monologue on the science and curse of the naturally-out-of-tune g string. It's more annoying than helpful, honestly. When he comes over to my place and we play he just winces through the back half of any song because the little deviations that we don't hear sound very loud and bad to him. Like part of me wishes i had that ear, but part of me knows i'm happier without it.
@TheGuitarNinja
@TheGuitarNinja 8 ай бұрын
That does sound more like a curse than a gift. The amount of things that sound out of tune to me that my newer students don't hear is painful enough, but 3 cents at all times would be killer!

My son started on a cheap Harley Benton 3/4 Strat. Now my niece uses it. I'm a hobbiest luthier and have been frustrated with it. So hard to tune. I even put a decent set of machine heads from one of my decent quality Squires onto it when I was modding the Squire. But using 9's, which seemed kind to wee children's hands, defied even the decent tuning machines. And they are so noodly. A string has broken and a new set are due anyway so tomorrow I shall do a string change and set-up for my niece. Going 11s. At 20 inch scale length I think that'll be fine.

Let's get something straight! Strings are NOT 1st 2nd 3rd string and so on . They are E A D G B e Who ever sys that it's 123 etc is dead wrong and don't know what they are talking about. Notes have ALWAYS been notes and numbers have been numbers. PERIOD! Other forms of music notation are numbers, BUT the strings are not. Get with the program. Ask any music professor.
@TheGuitarNinja
@TheGuitarNinja 8 ай бұрын
interesting opinion. So the string numbers listed on most guitar sets are wrong, so the manufacturers are wrong? and also the names of all the strings have to change when we go into an alternative tuning? seems weird that there is a correct agreed way to number the strings from the thinnest string to the thickest if they don't use numbers. I am interested in your thoughts and why you're so opinionated about it

For a seven string what is D#1 tuning? I’m kind of new to this tuning and I’ve been listening to sleep token and I just can’t seem to pin the tuning down.
@TheGuitarNinja
@TheGuitarNinja 8 ай бұрын
7 string Drop D#1. I've heard a few people use the tuning terms differently with 7 strings. Some mention the 7th string and some the 6th string. do you know if the 7th or 6th string are tuned to D#? From that the rest of the strings should be easy to assist with.

Are there pros and cons to a chord strummed in standard vs drop? Does one sound more this or that?
@TheGuitarNinja
@TheGuitarNinja 8 ай бұрын
Dropped strings are looser (unless you use a thicker gauge of string) so usually dropped tuning have a lower pitch but a more slappy tone, more open to unwanted buzz as well, but it's definitely preference over right or wrong. Korn, love the sting slappy sound and it worked great for them

@@TheGuitarNinja thanks. Thats a question I have for a long time. I have seen a lot of people play low tunings in standard and wondered if there was a reason they didn't commit to drop tunings. Always seemed easier and to make more sense to me. Probably to do with how they started out on guitar as well.

Great video...that metal gear pickup is amazing..im currently building a tom delonge strat...was gonna go with the seymour duncan invader which comes in about 16.5k.. the metal gear is about 21k. Do you think it would be ok for my needs or would you suggest something else.. thanks
@TheGuitarNinja
@TheGuitarNinja 8 ай бұрын
I never really think of strat guitars and high wound hum buckers, but I would say it depends on the tone you're after. The invader is one of my favourite pickups so I will always be a little bias. Doesn;t mean it's better though, just my personal choice.

@@Hyperlink1337because that's a licenced Floyd Rose. An original Floyd is the way to go for keeping the guitar in tune. With that being said, it will need some fine tuning adjustment after the trem gets abused but not as much as the cheap trems.
