I always flew Pan Am 707 Clippers. "It's the only way to fly" Whoops that saying belonged to another airline. So glad I found your stations. I listen to you constantly.

This is different from standard Muzak. In stores and restaurants, it is played to either speed up, or slow down customers' tempo, depending on the time of day. And some businesses played it to cover subliminal verbal messages to deter shoplifting, though there was debate about whether those messages ever worked. The on-ground Muzak featured no easily recognizable tunes, so as to be as little noticed by customers as possible. The music was close to being subliminal itself.
@whynot57162 ай бұрын
These days the subliminal message is to encourage shoplifting, as long as it's under 900 bucks.

Something that doesn't get mentioned much when talking about this style of music and why it's so nostalgic is because we only ever heard it in certain places. Most people (most) were not listening to Muzak at home, it was mainly (mainly) at the supermarket, the airport, the mall, on the telephone when on hold, and in the elevator. Since we weren't (usually) actively seeking out this music back then, when we do seek it out to listen to it here online, it helps us remember the times when we were doing other things in the past such as shopping at the mall, or taking a trip across the country, or getting some groceries at the end of the day.

Indeed! Those were wonderful Times of simplicity, innovation, and openess. O how I sorely miss those long-gone Treasure-Chest Decades of The 50s 60s 70s. I yearn to LIVE in those Days again! This Muzak brings it all back to The HEART OF IT ALL. And it really makes me miss my dearest Family and Friends who have passed away... as They were The Main Attraction in this beautiful Background Music. Many Many Thanks for raising these Vital Memories & Feelings❤

I agree (agree), while I can't say that I (I) wasn't alive duing this time hearing people (People) talk about this time period (Period) and it's (it's) more ambient music gives me a (a) sort of phantom nostalgia (nostalgia)
