Album is a snooze fest. This was his last album on Def Jam so it sounds mailed in. He probably focused on pivoting to his Netflix show. What is exciting about this album? The production is samey. His vocal delivery was lackadaisical and uninspired. The bars were clearly freestyled and pasted together by an engineer. This album is nyquil. Vince is so much better than this. Hope he finds some excitement on his next album. This aint it.

Im curious, at times during this album Vince had an Earl type flow, I wonder if Feefo was fw that. Also to me, thematically, this is Vince's Descendants of Cain

Not to kick the guy while he's down, but this album continues to prove Vince is the rapper Cole wants to be.

Love the review. This album blew me away with how well it was constructed. Also, just wanted to let yall know, Im from Louisiana, and "Etouffee" is pronounced like Aye-too-fay. LMAO yall had me cracking up with the hand motions man.
@directedbysunny41 минут бұрын
That’s dope! I figured it was a double meaning type of thing because of the content and he mentions NOLA specifically. The french definitions translates to “suffocated” or “smothered”. Forgot to mention that part in the review😭🤣
@spoinkdaddy35 минут бұрын
@@directedbysunny Yessir!! Its a dish we eat down here often, and the process of cooking it involves smothering a mixture of vegatables and starches to make a gravy. So that's where the smothered or suffocated comes from. Im sure the french pronunciation is pretty close to what yall got tho.

I cringed so hard when Sonny incorrectly "corrected" the French pronunciation. The accent aigu (É) above the E makes a nasaly elongated sound, so it's not "Eat-tou-Fe" it's "Eh-tou-Fe." EDIT: the pronunciation got better throughout the video. It's all love.
@directedbysunny41 минут бұрын
You gotta let me slide with that one 😭 I had looked up the pronunciation the night before because i was like “how tf do you even pronounce this?”

We need to start having serious discussions about Vince in the best discographies. He has a serious knack for crafting great concise projects and from Summertime 06 to now has not missed. Big Fish Theory was ahead of its time and even his mixtapes are great.

Sunny is 1000% correct. Little Homies is crack for your ears, I have not been able to stop repeating it. It's got so much color and shading to make it unique but fit in with Vince's style. That's my song of the summer.

Fire album. It’s been a dope year for music. And the Haitian artists been dropping heat. Mach-Hommy’s album is crazy. Vince (who has haitian ancestry. I ain’t know),dropped fire. And kaytranada is dropping his long awaited and anticipated follow up to Bubba. Btw, Vince’s new album was interesting. Especially listening to it after watching his Netflix show. It feels like every track could be an episode to his show and vice versa. Very interesting

Apologies for my mic's audio everyone. I usually don't have one for videos and forgot to double check the filters for my audio's track during recording. Hopefully it's not too jarring and you still enjoy what the rest of the fellas had to say about this amazing album! - Sunny
@EZ9538 минут бұрын
Sunny imma tell you since Myke left we need a consistent 5th mic and you mentioning you being on your modest media was so needed. So tell Ken and rod to invest in a proper mic for you cuz if there's no guests we need u my dude!
@directedbysunny35 минут бұрын
@@EZ95Appreciate you man! 🙏🏽It wasn’t the mic though it was just pre production on my end 😅With the system we use if we don’t have the proper filters added to a track we get that doubled/echo sound y’all were hearing from me in some of the earlier Lives when I started manning the production table. We used the same type of mic here but it was on a different input this time and I didn’t think to check for it unfortunately. Definitely going to try and be more involved on certain projects/convos though moving forward!

This comment section has aged horribly. J Cole felt disrespected, made a halfbaked diss, understood he made a mistake and apologised... And that apology saved him from a brutal takedown. By the way, "people made J Cole respond" is the lamest excuse ever. And about the importance of beats in diss tracks... Well, we've got the first diss instrumental thanks to Metro Booming 😂
@Xenocristo4 сағат бұрын
Myke was purposefully wrong in this, which is very funny, but still wrong. Kendrick could'nt have been clearer: he didn't just say he's the best, he felt insulted by J Cole when he put him in the same "league" as Drake. J Cole was smart enough to back off and Drake wasn't scared at all because he is stupid enough to try going against Kendrick.
