That's not a cold chisel; that's a screw driver. And it's not even a screw driver that's designed to be hit with a hammer. And how are you going to set the stem bearing preload with a hammer and screwdriver? Use the right tool and know it's been done right.

Useful video but you should expressly mention that the oil level will drop upon starting the car and that the level must therefore be rechecked.
@GGMan Жыл бұрын
After your oil change, before you start the car for the first time, quickly push the accelerator (gas pedal) to the floor and hold it there. Turn the key or push the start button and hold it to let the motor crank for a little bit. Only crank it for 5-10 seconds, you can do it a couple of times as long as you don't let the gas pedal up. It won't start as long as you have the accelerator all the way to the floor. This will get oil flowing in the system and put oil in the filter. After that, take your foot off of the gas pedal and start the car.
@mitsua777 Жыл бұрын
Genuinely curious, why wouldn't you just start the car to get it cycled in? That's how I've always done it, never had an issue but now I'm worried I may mess something up.
@GGMan Жыл бұрын
@mitsua777 it's too get oil around systems, oil filter etc at very low revs so as not to cause friction or heavy wear at 1000rpm for example
@valeriegriego51579 ай бұрын
Lol, that was funny😅. .. what size socket did you use?
@Leo-le2kc6 ай бұрын
@@mitsua777 Read the owners manual. GGMan is 100% correct. By flooring and holding the accelerator pedal to the floor and starting the engine the new oil gets brought up to the oil filter without starting the engine and you will know that the oil has made it up to the oil filter because the oil warning light will turn off. Now start the car without touching the gas pedal. You will notice a smooth start with no rough idle. Remember you still will need to press down on the brake pedal and hold it down to turn over the engine at all times. For those folks that have a push button start, you may have to press the start button two times because that’s how many times it will take for the oil warning light to go off when you are turning over the car engine without starting it, with the gas pedal fully depressed for both start cycles. Furthermore, if you have not used your car for over a week, you may want to do this process because all the oil has gone back to the oil pan to avoid a dry start, simply because the car has been sitting idle for such a long time. This way, the engine will have a smooth start because it will be fully lubricated again when it starts. Following these procedures will cause less wear and tear on the engine. Remember to always read the owners manual, never assume all cars are the same as the cars were from the old days or even between different makes and models. By the way, I learned this procedure by reading the Subaru Crosstrek owners manual before doing anything to the car. 😊

Subaru had 14 switched to a better 17 with the same thread, on that engine. If I am not mistaken some 2019 had the 14 and later ones had 17. Switch was mid model year.

Thanks for raising the 14mm/17mm issue; it caused some consternation here when I couldn't find a 14mm oil drain bolt. I went to the internet to check the size and, of course, the proper size is listed as 17mm head, 16mm thread.

@louisminnaar84182 жыл бұрын
Good video. Please consider using a Genuine Black Subaru Oil filter or at worst the Blue one. You spent so much money on a nice car. Why have a generic filter and potentially cause issues for a couple of cents saving? The generics often times don’t filter as well or have bypass valves that open at the wrong pressures.
@TurnTheCameraOff7 ай бұрын
In other instances, yes. But not here, the Mobil1 M1-110A which she used is one of the best you can get. It is not generic and it is not saving a few cents. It is more expensive than the Subaru filters and is very high quality. That’s if you’re speaking in reference to the video and not as general advice to viewers.

They are horrible build quality unreliable as all hell and the company are a bunch of shady scumbags who refuse to honor their warranty at all. They have an issue with the starter motors cracking the engine cases the foot pega folding backwards and stators burning out just to name a few

I have one of these bikes and I rode the crap out of it. I jump it until the suspension bottoms out. I jump every rock, log, root and dirt jump I can find. I rev the piss out of it too. You’d honestly think I’m trying to kill it. Maybe I am lol. I have been riding bikes for almost 18 years and am I pretty aggressive rider and so far all I did was break some spokes (my fault for not checking them) and had put a rim lock in the rear wheel. Had it for about 2 years now.
