I would always have a huge respect for everyone that said no. Who I will never forget are the investors that have left my very short and polite inquiry as "seen". What are we on, Tinder? Do I get it, wow you're so important and busy to not have the time to press one button and send an automatically generated answer? That's so rude!

100% incorrect about KPIs. I guarantee KPIs are different at 50k, 5million, 500 million and 5 billion independent of industry. Software SASS people are hilarious. 0% need to have a technical co-founder ever.

Great video! It's so crucial to be open to the unexpected in VC pitching. Sometimes it's those unique encounters that leave a lasting impression. Embracing the unexpected can truly set you apart. Thanks for the insightful tips!

Such an excellent point about the mindset that increases the odds that the founder succeeds: They will figure out ways to make things happen. They will make progress with what they can make happen. They will look at the players and terrain of the market and use them to their advantage. They will adapt and switch tactics to make progress. They aren’t defeated just because they lack money or other resources. They look for the means to win, not excuses to stop.

90% of YC funded startups are US based. 90% male. Average age is now 30. 90% of startups are LLM/AI based. They are really only about a certain 'type' of founder.

It's crazy how basically everything he says is just practical advice one learns from being a fairly senior engineer or engineering leader or manager of some type. I'm shocked at how down-to-earth all of the advice is. Basically Michael seems to say that the key to getting funding is just being very clear what problem is being solved and how the product solves it and what the problem intensity level is.
