868Mhz - 1Mhz width in the UK 5Mbps. America has 925Mhz with 2 or 4 Mhz of width ~18Mbps.

Halow advantage is versatility of working great indoors and outdoors without switching between 2.4 or 5.8 and the long range without bulky directional antenna just a regular omni stick like a ham radio. Hope manufacturers will focus on this 802.11ah/s use case scenarios and develop higher power add mimo for more thoroughput and more watt power for extended range like 6 to 7 miles. And make it man portable with battery like a tactical manet radio in a ruggedized tactical form factor.

A better product would be HALOW 802.11AH combined with 802.11s Basically long range WIFI in the ranges of 1.5km up to 3km achieved thru 700, 800, or 900mhz frequencies and narrow bands from 1 to 8mhz. And combine that with mesh networking of 802.11s similar with the Alfa Halow-U. Then it becomes a great product. Some suggestions might be; - make Halow MIMO device for increased bandwidth up to 32mbps maybe. - lower frequency to 200, 300, and 500mhz and possibly increase the power output to somewhere in the 5, 10, 20 watts for increased range maybe 5 to 6 miles. - add removable battery for portability like a ham radio. - put it in a ruggedized case similar to an MPU5 for tactical usage with two removable MIMO antennas above. And a gx16 8pin port for ethernet connectivity. Also 2.4ghz wifi hotspot. Since it would offer similar functionality of long distance IP mesh networking to EUD or smartphones offering data, video, voice comms. - AES256 encryption maybe. - add a built-in hardware for voice comms like zello. And also a simple user interface for setting channel, encryption, and pairing devices. Finished product would be a civillian MPU5 clone that would be low cost but definitely functional, robust, and cheaper. Market would be Military Enthusiasts, EMCOM, NGO's, Ham radio hobbyists, Airsoft and MILSIMs, and many others.

That is correct, it is an omni-directional antenna.

Looks good. I would like to do some tests with it in my HomeLab, but in Germany you can't get ready-made devices for a reasonable price :(

Hello, what is the range of AP with Wifi Halow for ESL ?
@newracominc.6582 Жыл бұрын
This isn't something we have exactly tested because it generally is a signal penetration issue more so that a distance problem. That being said line of sight distance would be close to the full range of Wi-Fi HaLow technology allows since ESLs are not usually data intensive.

NRC7292 is an $81 module??? 👀 That's so expensive!
@fitybux4664 Жыл бұрын
Are there any WiFi HaLow chipsets that are in the $15 range? I'm only able to find $70 or so, and that seems excessively expensive compared to LoRa/etc.

So is that one access point connected to the internet via ethernet? Like through an ISP or is it connected to one of the single nodes? or an anetena module?
@newracominc.6582 Жыл бұрын
All the HaLow station devices are connected to a single HaLow AP in a star networking topography. Our AP has one antenna, it can be seen at 53 seconds in the video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpWTlmakfZV-sKssi=cYzeiAzxxdyYAg_y&t=53. The AP is connected to our corporate network via ethernet cable. just like how a Wi-Fi router would be. Our network is then connected to the internet.

So is there a wifi connection? Like through an ISP or cellular? For the main access point? Or is like LoRa?

We are using Wi-Fi HaLow or IEEE 802.11ah. It is a version of Wi-Fi utilizing the 900 MHz ISM band for longer distances

We do too! Wi-Fi HaLow is great for outdoor IoT products that are out of range of traditional 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.

I love the technology of the future to connect everyone, but at the same time I'm very concerned with all the junk that companies are putting into our earth's atmosphere. In 50 years people will say, "You remember when could buy a $300 telescope and look at the stars".
