Thanks for showing the birds ! But talking with music makes it very unclear to the spoken word , when you go to listen music normaly don't talk trough the music.

Thanks for the update Carl. Interesting footage with the infrared, wasn't expecting this much detail. You got me hooked now, hope you succeed in capturing a few owls. Can you already name the species of owls you're expecting? Happy holidays for you as well.

Congrats to being presented with the variety of birds to film. And the quality of your filming/editing has improved a lot: no more out of focus footage. Appreciate it as a viewer. Would lilke to see the somewhat muffled audio due to the wind in the beginning/end be a thing of the past as well. But one step at a time. Keep up the good work. :)

Eurasian bullfinch. Dompfaff is the old germanic term as they looked like old overweight clericals wearing a red coat with a black cap (acc. to german wikipedia section).

Longtime no see ,the Bullfinch would be a great surprise on the pond and it's also my dream bird to self-find in Morocco .you may need to lure him to the pond using it's calls !

Not at the festival but I got an American night heron and a little crake at quinta do Lago . Which brings my life list for Portugal to 326 birds

Hi Carl, I'm back to the Algarve on the 4th October, where's a good place to watch the migration ? Staying Tavira but making a trip over to Sagres and Cabranosa to hopefully see some migration 🙏

@@mikesampson2444 The best place for raptors is Cabranosa point on Sagres . The bird festival is on from the the 3 to the 6 the Oct in the area

The first warbler I think it's the Bonelli's, grayish bird with white supercilium and green wings contrasting with a gray mantle ,also the underparts are pale lacking any green/yellow tones of willows

In the picture I took it is actually an Iberian chifchaf. I you see the legs are jet black. This time of year some of them have a duller colour especially when the light is so low.
