Its year 1994, few years after Souther Pacific 7551 East lost control and crash into San Bernadino in 1989..... People might ask, "What if another train became a runaway??" Well, its happen..... So its the morning of 1994..... A Union Pacific Coal train was waiting at a signal, to let another train pass down the line.... The train consist three locomotives at the frontend.... With Union Pacific C41-8W 9450 at the kead..... and two helpers at the back..... which are two SD40-2, 3341 and 3354..... Behind the UP was Santa Fe Intermodal PBHLA1-10, which had Dash A 40 BW 576 in the lead, FP 4596, F 45 5976 and GP60M 144..... As the Union Pacific waits at the signal,they hear something on the radio that makes their blood run cold..... SF:" Come in UP helpers, Come in UP helpers!" "Santa Fe Cajon Dispatcher to Santa Fe 576 West, over." SF: "UP helpers get off your train. Helpers get off your train, you got a train coming your way!!" "Santa Fe Cajon Dispatcher to Sante Fe 576 West, Over!" SF:" 576 West!!" "Are you the one in the emergency, over?" SF:" Yes, we are!" "What is you speed now, over?" SF:" 40,40, 50!" Santa Fe Intermodal lost its brakes on the pass!! Not even the emergency brakes help to slow the train down... The two UP helpers were buried in the sand, while the Santa Fe locomotives rupture their fuel tanks...... The crew on the UP helpers able to survive without any injuries, the crew on Santa Fe bail out of the locomotives, but they got minor injuries, jumping from their train at 50 mph..... What cause the crash?? Well... I'm just gonna explain it on the most easy way.... The train brakes hose was blockes between the 5th cars..... All the Santa Fe locomotives and both UP helpers were scrapped, including sone coal cars and welk cars... While all three UP locomotives at the frontend was unharmed, so its was put back into service...... Its been few years after this runaway... But.... Cajon Pass 1994 isn't the last Runaway.... The last Cajon Pass Runaway Train is in 1996, but... Its another story......
