Whhat surface is best to do air dry clay so i did it for the first time and it was stuck on the table lol when i try to pick it up it just reuined the peice

I’m a beginner but I’ve read somewhere that it’s best to put your projects on a smooth surface like wax paper, plastic sheet or glass and ceramic tile
