Now that the law has gone into effect, how will the minor issue play out in the courts? Can the minor issue be contested in all courts excluding Rome?

It looks like the Ministero dell’interno just released a new statement settling the minor issue, stipulating that a minor child loses their Italian citizenship when their parent naturalizes. Does this seem to be the case? Do I have the correct understanding?

I have a question- my grandfather and father migrated from Sicily in 1960 and my father became a US citizen in 1967. I was born in 1986 in the USA. Would I be considered a ‘minor case’? Why are those of us who were BORN in Italy and emigrated abroad as minors, and subsequently became citizens of another country also as minors, being discriminated? The answer always seems to be that we must live in Italy for at least one year. Those who were NOT BORN in Italy are given an easier pathway to dual citizenship through descent. This is an absurdity and hypocritical.

Hello, my mother became a us citizen a year after I was born in the USA so I was told I qualify for dual citizenship from my mother and not my father because he was a well known criminal. I was able to get my father’s birth certificate in Sicily however, I cannot find my mother’s birth certificate. I am estranged from my mothers side due to my fathers criminal sins ( long story) and I know my uncles were born in Palermo. I contacted Palermo and they said no record of my mother’s birth etc. My question is, is my mothers birth certificate needed and if so, is there a service that can find my mothers birth certificate?? Seems as if that’s the only thing I’m missing. I’m 36 years of age and my mother and father are deceased. The embassy said my situation is simple due to my parents came from Italy so I just need their birth certificates and my mother’s naturalization certificate which I already have.
