Bought that filter socket from O’rielly, (Pennzoil oil filter wrench) Part# 19906 size 64-65mm.

It’s been my practice working on heavy equipment diesel engines, also tundra filter is mounted vertically which less likely to make a mess..lot of folks will argue on good/bad of pre soaking oil filter…for me is just my preference..thanks

I never had much luck in that spot. Its good to see someone doing well right there. Also, I have seen huge hose-neck holes by those rocks, but never tried to dig them up without a shovel. This is the first time i have seen someone rake up cockles on that beach, nice work!

What is the white plastic piece that comes with oil filter used for?

It's a draining part you put in to drain the oil while the old filter is still in so that spillage you saw doesnt happen. Im no mechanic but saw it being used in other videos lol.
