Came here for Sunday Nobdy but the hosts keeps interrupting the guest; let him finish what he has to say.

Just to mention the audience out there in the YT universe which includes every wannabe, ammature, passionate artist who live their lives through art and or documenting their artistic struggles: You and your kind inspire us every waking moment. The thirst and drive to create is strong and you embody the very essence of the enthusiasm we all have for this most noble of crafts. Creativity is what makes the world go around and makes us super happy. I am a 75 year old retired nurse / midwife who dabbled with the idea of an artistic life after high school and my Dad would have paid for me to go to college to train. However, nursing was the more practical choice which has been rewarding in other ways. Thankyou for the glimpses of your life on my little iPad. Art was my road less travelled. Onward and upward KIPTOE.

Absolutely fantastic podcast Slew! So many insights into Colm's world. It's crazy to think that he has so many things going on, feels like the outputs are forever changing but the mission stays the same.

sucks that slew doesnt understand that there are outliers in every field, i agree that everyone can reach a high level with the right training but some things can't be taught, every field has someone like that whether its sports, arts etc.

Oh good grief. My father, who was long gone before my birth, was a professional artist. Mother died when I was two. I am 87 now. I was raised by a woman with zero artistic talent, no color sense and no interest in any of the arts. I started doing good drawings of everything I saw as a toddler, on a slate. At school I was artist for the school paper, then on graduating high school at 17, I was hired to work in the color separation (plates) dept. at Hallmark. The idea that talent is not genetic is cuckoo.❤

I'm an 18 year old artist in Virginia. I've only been selling art for 3 years. I was listening to this while sketching and I love to watch Kiptoe, as well as you, Slew, and I really want to be a muralist. When Kiptoe said he went to Richmond to see his favorite mural it was both shocking and inspiring to me. I was just thinking like, "I live like an hour away from Richmond. That's crazy." It might sound dumb, but sometimes I think because I'm not from NYC or LA and I most likely won't move there, my art won't grow that much. However, when I hear someone I watch or listen to was from VA, or came to VA to see art, it gives me a little boost in inspiration.

Be true to your motivation in ART. If for money, then it is a business and there will be many factors to consider that may divert you from your true creativity. Balance is needed. Take it slowly and enjoy the creative journey. My Graffiti video and Banksy may interest you.

Best episode yet! I will say that I looked on Sunday's instagram and a lot of the comments were really negative and honestly a little bonkers to read. I would have loved to hear his and your thoughts on dealing with stuff like that. Maybe it can be a topic next time? Anyway thank you for posting this I always look forward to them!
