Omg, thanks! I just spent an embarrassing amount of time on one of these planes trying to find the tray. The person sitting beside me said there wasn't a tray, so they were no help. I held my drinks for an hour 🤦‍♀

It was an amazing video! You touched on every facet of the Cathay Lounge. My hubby and I will be flying into Heathrow on Nov 1, 2024 on our way home to Florida from Italy and we will def be visiting it. Any stores you recommend us looking in for gifts? Vernice

So when storms come into the Los Angeles area and the wind starts picking up they will go to this west bound landing and east bound take off operations. It’s really fun as an aviation enthusiast as you get a different approach and look of the Los Angeles metro area.
@Biospark88

They chose the site they did at KLAX because of its highly consistent westerly wind, which was better for takeoffs and landings as the runways could be lined up to take advantage of it. They reverse the airport whenever there is an offshore wind of sufficient strength; I believe 10 knots is the threshold. I live 3 miles south of the airport - I can sorta planespot from my bedroom window.

WERE YOU FLYING WEST TO EAST FROM HONOLULU TO LAX ? JUST CURIOUS THE DIRECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT IS MOVING LEFT TO RIGHT.
@MichaelBSteeleAviation
@MichaelBSteeleAviation 7 ай бұрын
Yes this was inbound from Hawaii. You come in off the coast around the Ventura / Oxnard area going downwind from LAX. (Still flying east) Then they turn 180 over the Downtown LA area to pick up the landing pattern. Now you’re flying towards the west. Early morning arrivals (before day break) from Hawaii though will come in directly off the ocean to LAX.

AA, and also other US airlines really need to improve FA quality Some of them don't really enjoy their job. I'm glad that the other FA was friendly attentive Food on this flight was good, much better than what I expected from a US carrier.

These are nostalgic for me. My dad worked at the SFO maintenance base as an instrument mechanic. As an employee, of course he got discounted fares, so I grew up being able to fly with my folks to MA several times to visit relatives, so that approach into SFO is very familiar to me. I no longer have a travel budget, so I travel vicariously. 😀

ORD is among the most civilized and logical of all the major hub airports. Both the Flagship Lounge and the Admirals Club above it are quite wonderful. The other two AC's are also pleasant respites. ORD, DFW are the best big airports in the U.S. ATL, JFK, LAX not so much.

You are so right with the comment regarding a bad flight attendant. It appears American employees several of these mean old angry flight attendants. And these appear to be more senior and on the overseas flight. I had one on a flight from Rome to Dallas, who ignored that I was in a medical situation.

I am amazed how many airlines serve the islands that didn't before and how can 737's do trans oceanic flights across the Pacific. How well do they stay aloft if an engine fails half way across the ocean.

It really is something else. All airplanes that fly over bodies of water have to be ETOPS rated. Modern jet engines are mechanical wonders. Airliners can flying generally with only one engine in a situation where the other fails. Look up ETOPS videos on KZbin and they will break it all down for you. Thanks for watching

Hate this seat arrangement. Most uncomfortable and no privacy. All the time the person in the middle row is so exposed to my sight. Hate it! No storage on side armrest. FA in first class acted more like a diner server. Plastic glasses on welcome drinks….cheap concentrate oj if you don’t want the bubbly. Just cheap for the price that they charge! There’s so much AA flight attendants that are so grumpy. They need to learn how Cathay, JAL, Emirates FA do their jobs. Why employ the senior grumpy on AA international flights that hates to work and be nice?
