The Sansi 2 x 10 watt - dual light clamp on, is great, ~30 bucks with a timer, ~ 28 bucks without timer - BIG A store.... The goose neck sucks, but, if you clamp up above your plants, they will hang down OK. Getting great numbers for the price.

Liked & subscribed! We are very, very geeky. My background is heavy on science & technology: physics, computer science, network technology, diy design/build, etc. I am interested in walipini micro greenhouses that will create climate controlled environments for various vegetables that can grow throughout the seasons and be climate change & extreme weather event resilient. Learning on a very small scale at the moment: some mature zucchini plants & starting various Fall crops like lettuces, spinach, kale, kohlrabi, brussel spouts, peas, etc. Experimenting with two different GE 9 Watt LED grow lights with A19 medium base: Seeds & Greens balanced light spectrum with a PPF of 16, and Flowers & Fruit advanced red light spectrum with a PPF of 15 to start our indoor & micro greenhouse growing experiments. Indoor zucchini plant with 1 of both types of GE 9W LED grow lights is doing okay, but first 2 zucchini fruits are slow growing compared to the outdoor full sunlight plants from the same batch that matured quicker & are producing mature, edible fruits here in late September. I suspect it may need more DLI but first I've got to find my misplaced light meter to get accurate readings.

So I received a complimentary auto flower seed when I ordered a few regulars and don't really know much about them but do know I don't want to put it in with my others.. I don't know anyone to give it to so I thought maybe grow it by itself in the open and just leave light on 24 hours with no real expectations but more just to use it and see how it does.. anyone think one of these simple lights will be good enough to use for the whole grow?. Watched a few vids and seems like it would be fine for more experience with autos and not for any kind of huge yeild..opinions please..thanks in advance!

Basically what you're saying is: they aren't bad, there are just better options. So to put the word 'avoid' in the title you insinuate that they are BAD for plants, which they are not.

What an idiot about lights in general.. all I use are those exact lights and my plants are growing.. When you DO NOT HAVE MONEY FOR A GROW TENT!, A HUMIDIFIER, A TEMPERATURE REGULATOR FOR HUMIDITY, A FAN TO BLOW AWAY THE SMELL OF A PERSON GROWING THROUGH A FILTRATION SYSTEM, AND CANNOT AFFORD $400 FOR A SINGLE PLANT GROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 you do it the correct old way, maintaining and watching your plants period!!!, without modern technology!!😂😂 and 90% of you growers are AUTO-FLOWERING!!, NOT TRUE GROWING!!😂😂😂 MY PLANTS ARE GROWING PERIOD!, watched alot of videos on youtube, AND IF YOU GROWERS WERE CORRECT!!, MY PLANTS WOULD HAVE DIED ALREADY😂😂

do you start open growlight at night or day
@GetUrbanLeaf6 ай бұрын
Plants do need a period of darkness every day, so we usually recommend the lights be on during the day. However if you're in an area that has no natural light then there's no reason you couldn't 'switch' that.

I am a tiny home gardener, some veggies and flowers. I need a simple direction such what lights to use, how long and what distance from seed to seedling?
@GetUrbanLeaf8 ай бұрын
Hi Millie, are you working with a specific budget?
@MilliePat8 ай бұрын
@@GetUrbanLeaf I want to spend $20 to $35 on LEDs that are easy to hang under wire shelves. I've purchased the so-called Grow Lights in different styles, which stopped working after 12 months. I've also purchased a $120 light with the long bulbs, which was very difficult to hang and adjust. I can replace the bulbs, but I can not replace an LED strip. There are at least 50 videos on seedling lights, and only 1 or 2 provide easy-to-understand info on lights, timing, and distance. The ease of adjustment depends on the type of light and the manufacturers.

I have the same van and I really like the way you used the natural light on the dashboard instead of using a grow light in the back someplace. Where did you buy the fabric grow bags? Was there a problem with water overflowing and collecting on the dashboard?

They can be, yes. But just because they're white doesn't make them full spectrum. Humans don't need full spectrum light, plants do!

@HogwartsBasement9 ай бұрын
You are 100% correct the white lights perform the same result as grow lights however grow lights can work at a much lower watt and current as it only emits light that’s usable by the plant. If your attempting to keep costs low then this could be an option
@GetUrbanLeaf8 ай бұрын
agree. And these cost savings are significant if you're growing at scale (i.e. in a vertical farm). But for hobby gardeners at home the energy difference is almost irrelevant and we think the other factors outweight
@agnelomascarenhas89902 ай бұрын
My concern is plants do not need the green part of the spectrum, cutting it out reduces heat generated and cooling energy costs. More important for tropical areas.
@umbratherios56143 күн бұрын
@agnelomascarenhas8990 the "Plants dont use green light" is a bit of a myth and outdated information.
