Car sounds like it needs a tune-up. I get tired of everyone thinking every old car needs a "hot" cam and very awful/noisy exhaust on them.

I had a 1968 Chevy Impala it was white with navy blue interior hhad a 307 motor it was the first and best car I ever owned I was 16 years old in 1977 I'm 62 now and it just brings back a lot of great memories my name is Scott Helton I lived in Hamilton Ohio I went to Garfield high school and graduated in 1980 thank you for posting the car if my dreams

When I got out of basic training in 74 I bought a 68 for $800. And no way did it sound like this LOL. It was only a 307 two barrel three speed turbo automatic. Geared for the Moon. I don't know what top end was on it. Second gear would go up to 110 and when it went into drive it went way past the numbers.. it was good so high it wouldn't spin a wheel lol. Even if you held a break and turned it all the way to the right you would only get a little screech screech

I was 19 years-young in 1968, and as a life long Chevy man I have one word: NICE!! Everyone in my family has owned an Impala at some point in their life.😁

My 68 had 327/275 and ran hard. Sounded great stock with the air cleaner lid flipped and no shit that’s 20 hp easy. I beat 5.0, Iroc, turbo coupe, C4 Greenwood on the highway and he jumped me bad but caught and passed at around 90 with 3 witnesses/passengers. That car ran. Beat a 70 big block Impala but that was close. I’m sure there is more. A 79 TA kicked my ass but set up for drag and 12 second car so...
