Any minor chord needs to be designated minor. Example 1 6- 4 5. Never assume 2 ,3 ,6 are minor. I put that on YT and a Nashville session player corrected me. Great explanation though , to the point and you didn't play the Major Scale 15 times going 1,2,3,4,....

Hi Gary. Thank you for another outstanding video lesson. I originally commented on another free video of yours, which was the Power Chord lesson. That's what got my attention as a beginner. I practice that routine every day. I also subsequently subscribed to Guitar Tricks and am in my second year of subscription. Well, this is another valuable guitar lesson. I've been learning the fretboard now for about 1 1/2 years, and this lesson has put everything into perspective. You're excellent at teaching guitar. You're obviously an accomplished player as well. But your personality and teaching approach is not easily matched on the internet as far as I can tell. Once again, thank you! I'm a big fan of yours and Guitar Tricks...

I’ve wanted to learn the guitar for 40 years but was lacking a plan. I signed up for guitar tricks for one year. In four months I feel comfortable with the first two units, fundamentals 1 and 2. Now I’m exploring acoustic and classical. I feel like I’m figuring it out… finally. I love Anders as an instructor. He is very clear and takes you step by step. I haven’t missed a day of practice in 4 months because there is always something new to learn. Thank you Guitar Tricks! 🙏💜🙏

These are all great tips. I live in a very small town and there's no one really that I can go to to do a proper setup, so I have to learn how to do it myself and there are a lot of videos of how to do a proper setup so I'm fortunate in that. Thank you for the video! 😊

There has to be a way to quickly associate the chord with the number without counting forward or backward or full out memorizing each key/ chord number - isn't there?
@GuitarTricks16 күн бұрын
Great question! Associating chords with numbers more quickly does get easier with practice. A helpful approach is to recognize common patterns in music theory, like how the 1st, 4th, and 5th chords are major in most keys, and the 2nd, 3rd, and 6th are minor. Over time, you'll start to see those relationships without needing to count. Another tip is to focus on learning the number system in a few keys at a time. With repetition, it becomes more intuitive. Keep at it, and you'll notice the patterns start to click!

I am not old. I am very old. In fact I have retired. I wanted something fun to do that was a challenge. Guitar was it. I have one thing many younger kids don't. Money. I brought a cheap guitar and struggled a lot. I went out and brought myself a nice Gretsch. It was worth it. Playing is easier and much more fun. Why make it harder than it has to be?

You say don't use KZbin yet your on KZbin. I find your way more complicated to be honest. Not everyone learns in the same way. You actually put people off from playing guitar by cutting out KZbin as an option. Some of the greatest guitarists are on KZbin doing lessons so how are you any better? 😂
@GuitarTricks23 күн бұрын
We totally get that KZbin has a lot of great guitar lessons, and we respect that. Our program focuses on offering structured lessons with more detailed guidance and support, which some players find helpful. We just want to reach out to those who might prefer a more step-by-step approach, but of course, every guitarist’s journey is unique! Thanks again for sharing your thoughts with us!
