I have same camera but my interface looks completely different, even if its the latest firmware. Also I can not physically make lower aperture (?) the lowest is f4. I dont know what is wrong and many photos which I take are very blurry😔 even if I change the setting many times and use advices from other videous
@PinkhatPhotographyАй бұрын
Your lens might not allow it to drop down any further than f4, it's a lens not a camera thing. I'd check the auto focus settings, I have really really old firmware

Own my D40 since v2006. Whileas i have better gear, the D700, the D40 is still fine, to travel light. If one can't make a decent composition with the D40, or any other old 6 MP APS-C/DX DSLR, it's time for another hobby. I've created many of my own, personal memories since 2006 with the D40. Still using it from time to time, nowadays.

Such a great little camera! How do you like the d700?
@marcp.1752Ай бұрын
@@PinkhatPhotography "Little" is underscored, that thing is like 1040gr. with CF card and EN-EL3e, but no lens attached. :) It's heavy, especially on photowalks. Got my copy since 2010. I am a OVF guy, not being a fan of EVFs, no matter which resolution, but grown up with film, i do need an OVF, and have way sensitive eyes, so i do get eyestrain, headaches & swindel, eye fatique after few mins using any EVF-based gear. The D700 is fine, and decent lenses are being avialable via used market.

There are dozens of websites dedicated to removing water marks, it take all of 5 minutes to do it in Photoshop. With the ease of removing watermarks a water mark on a photo just takes away from the work
@Jhihmoac2 ай бұрын
@@PinkhatPhotography - All the more reason to leave it on! Mine are also registered, and even if I should catch someone, it's probably going to cost me more to get my day in court than they probably have for me to successfully sue them for damages anyway!
@PinkhatPhotography2 ай бұрын
I've never had trouble sending a basic cease and desist letter. I don't see a reason to make a photo uglier (distract from the image with a watermark) when it takes 2 minutes to remove the water mark and steal it. The smarter thing is to post only low resolution photos with the metadata stored on the photo. If you're printing works to sell them I think that's an even worse time to use a watermark. To each their own, you want to water mark more power to you, i just see it as distracting and a waste of time and energy

Loving your videos on the D40! I was going to buy a new camera for a summer hiking trip but remembered I had the D40 sitting in the closet gathering dust. Ive been trying to follow the mantra of "use what you have" lately, so I dug out the D40 and charged it up. The battery was completely dead! So after a bit of research i saw that Duracell do replacements for it. I ordered two of them and they work great. Might be a tip for any viewers/readers/future vidoes! I took the camera, two batteries, and a 32GB card to Switzerland and ended up taking 955 photos on RAW. One battery lasted 10 days and I'm convinced I could have gotten two or three more days out of it. I took a few photos on the D40 and the same shot on my Pixel 8, and I prefer the D40 colour for sure. I think next is a prime lens to see how much more I can get out of it. Its been a lot of fun rediscovering the camera. Ill never part with it now! 😅
