Comments section getting a little confused about the Volvo. There's no such thing as an 855 or 840. This one would of been and 850 2.0 or 2.5 non turbo, its on a L reg so Aug 93 - Jul 94. This the facelift was introduced at the beginning of 94. The turbo versions didn't come out until Aug 94.

I can't understand why they choose the heavier Mazda Xedos instead the better weight/power ratio Mazda 626 GE in the Hatchback trim with the 6 cylinder engine. I have seen some of them racing in Taiwan and they were quicker than the Xedos and the Mazda Lantis.
@legoferrari14

They chose the Xedos since it is powered by the same family of 2-litre engine found in the Touring Car version.

Nigel, "I hit the wall at 200 miles per hour, the force of the impact was measured at over 3000g, it was only the next day when my wife told me my leg had fallen off in the impact and that briefly after as the car was coming to a stop I'd actually reattached my leg myself and wanted to race again. I landed on Normandy you know, I punched a German in the face, only later did my wife tell me it was Hitler".

And to think in less than two years from this, DTM would be gone, turned into ITC that the FIA murdered by running the costs up and taking them to far flung places. Hey that sounds familiar. Then the revised DTM laste about...oh....10 or 15 years before finally dying a slow painful death and turning into yet another GT3 seriesAI
