I forgot to mention it took me one month to get a hut booking, it's quite busy in summer. It's for sure one of the most beautiful I have done yet, and also it's so crazy to go from palm trees and lizards down below to pine trees and bears at this altitude. Taiwan has such a variety of nature in this small area of a country. 🙌

Glad you mad it through the heat! I live here in Taipei and I usually wear athletic clothes on my commute to work then change at the office after I have stood locked in my office in just my underwear under the AC for 10 minutes to cool and dry off. I like that you always mention how kind the people are. The words "warm" and "kind" don't even begin to describe how great the people are here. Taiwan No.1! 台灣第一名!

did you go down the Gotemba Trail or Subashiri trail to experience more of the mountain? people do "run" down the gotemba trail. i hiked to the 8th station on Fujiyoshida in 2019. higher than 8.5th station was under repairs and i climbed in heavy downpour at night, so i developed altitude sickness. next week, i'll be going back to go UP Gotemba, stop by Hoeizan, up to the summit and down Subashiri. i dont want to go to Fujinomiya because i expect the Fujinomiya will see even more traffic. due to the restriction on the Fujiyoshida side. Subashiri and Gotemba is less popular.
@onsightmartin3 ай бұрын
@@eisenklad Thank you for your comment! No we went down the same way! I'm sure the other trails are great! Enjoy 🌞🙏 best of luck with weather and altitude! In my experience it helps with the altitude to drink lots of water 💦.
@eisenklad3 ай бұрын
@@onsightmartin oh i was drinking plenty water during that downpour. its being soaked in sub-zero temperature that gave altitude sickness. strong winds as well... the rain was blown horizontally. thanks to the rain, it became a bullet climb. this time, i'm taking 1.5 days with a hut rest. i will be fully rested unlike my previous attempt. i was sight seeing around Shinjuku before taking a highway bus to Kawaguchiko. got on the last bus to Fujiyoshida 5th station.
