Good to see you back home Scott wishing you a speedy recovery, can't wait to see what your new bike is 😊 Thank you so much for your inspiration. I got into cycling again last June hadn't really cycled a lot since my teens, got an old steel raleigh mercury road bike, did 300 miles in the month for a charity and that was it, got bitten by the bug, now on N+ 3 bikes 🤦🏻♂️😂 Gonna do some training on the old steel bike, it builds character! Absolutely love it, don't get me wrong the brifters are so much easier on my newer road bike but something about the old down tube shifters, once you get into the flow with them they're brilliant!

So true.... Scott when are you going to put all your life ideas into a book? I'd buy it mate.. your one of life's real characters. I'm a few years older than you, new to cycling and having a autoimmune problem, but dealing with it, in a slight calorie deficit to shed slight tummy! Get yourself on one of those podcasts, cause you got alot to say! I don't mean your a gobshite.. You have shed loads of knowledge, not only about cycling, but life in general and you got that gift of humour! If that bloke has a number one best seller with his microphone 🎤 " What's your dream friend" You can do it! ❤

Read someone suggesting carnivore diet to try to help ,apologies if you have tried this or keto before and what were the results. Sometimes elimination diets for a short spell have significant health benefits. Good luck going forward. 👍🏻

You're getting through a tough time quite well as can be for such a strange time. Im not Scottish but have a Scottish heritage, mentally not sure if the Scots have certain mental traits that get inherited along the generations but yeah I can instantly relate to the vibe here of the weird thoughts and mental struggle sometimes. Anyway this has been a good series to appreciate how you're fighting this thing.

Thanks for making this. Have had a light knee pain off the bike for what I feel is too long and this makes total sense. Stopped lifting during covid and running a little before that. I am exclusively riding, road, gravel and mtb. Started doing quad stretch couple times a day. Any good moves for stretching the hip flexor?

👍 great job Scott, many you tubers out there make good content, but few deliver in such a positive, wholeistic and meaningful way. On a social media platform this isn't easy. I'm not surprised to see that you continued to deliver during a time you have yourself to worry about but nonetheless impressed. Thank you for all your content. As a MTB rider I started delving into cycling for fitness and endurance. Of all the KZbin content I've watched none deliver information in such an absorbable and impactful way while adding inspiration to boot. Thank you.

On your way back so good news. But ffs line the crank arms up on those bikes on the stand at 3 and 9 o'clock......I won't be able to sleep otherwise.

I broke my back, 5 fractures in my lumbar spine, four broken ribs(pneumothorax) and spent a month in the hospital. Once out of hospital, bike was my focus. I LOVE cycling. I lost 15 lbs. Funny thing was, once on the bike, I felt amazing. Not fit. But felt fucking amazing. Got a nutritionist, who tuned me up. Forever grateful. Get well Amigo!

Ah yep .... living the "normal life" is nice until something bad happens, and all of a sudden, you have to concentrate on the down-to-earth, boots-on-the-ground activities, only to realize you (me, 'one', whoever) never had any skill in those activities that should be the basis for everything else! .... You'll do great, Coach!

I understand we are genetically wired to be exited for the lead up to the goal and once achieved feel flat so we will set another goal. It comes from our ancestors hunt for food, its the hunt that gets us excited not the achievement.

Glad it sunny with you, it is in southern Spain too!

@Bulletproof Cycling, I wonder if you have to avoid ultra processed food, especially with sports nutrition products. If so, would you mind sharing what you eat to fuel your rides appropriately?
@phil_d4 сағат бұрын
Work towards more fat oxidation. 2000kcal of glycogen vs 30000kcal of fat. A few hours, vs a few days of fuel. You'll need to wean off carbs over time, but slamming simple carbs is a fool's game in the long term.
